When it comes to Nick Cannon’s livelihood, it’s no surprise Cannon’s charisma comes out in all he does. From hosting several television shows to scene-stealing acting, the charism runs in his blood.
While talking with Men’s Health, Cannon believes a lot of his talent stems from growing up with a father who was a minister. “Being a son of a minister, somebody who was already in public speaking, I just kind of took after those vibes,” he says.
“I probably ain’t gonna be no preacher, cause I do too much singing. But you know, I’ll be able to at least engage in that same way to hopefully make as many people smile as possible.”
Cannon also talked about being a father of 8 and how he manages to be a father to all of them. Cannon shares his 8 children with five different women.
Cannon shares 11-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey. He shares 5-year-old Golden Sagon and 2-year-old Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell. Cannon welcomed his second set of twins last year with Abby De La Rosa and welcomed his seventh child into the world with Alyssa Scott in June 2021.

Now, Nick Cannon is awaiting the arrival of his 8th and 9th child. While talking with Men’s Health, Cannon said none of his children were “accidents.”
“I love my children. I love the people that I’m involved with. People even often ask, ‘Are you gonna have more, you gonna stop?’ I’m like, those are questions that I don’t, I don’t really even sit around and think about. I’m just walking in my purpose and trying to be the best father and best provider I could possibly be.”
As Cannon continued he revealed, that although there are a lot of people who don’t agree with the way he is building his family, he remains an engaged father to all of his children.
“Contrary to popular belief, I’m probably engaged throughout my children’s day, more often than the average adult can be. If I’m not physically in the same city with my kids, I’m talking to them before they go to school via FaceTime and stuff. And then when I am [in the same city, I’m] driving my kids to school, like making sure I pick ’em up. All of those things, making sure [I’m there for] all extracurricular activities. I’m involved in everything from coaching to having guitar lessons with my daughter every week.”
And Nick Cannon gets his approach isn’t “traditional,” but he argues that even traditional households can have a level of “toxicity” as well. “It’s not about what society deems is right. It’s like, what makes it right for you? What brings your happiness? What allows you to have joy and how [do] you define family? We all define family in so many different ways,” he told Men’s Health.
While the pending birth of his 8th child was revealed in January, it was only recently that Cannon revealed he has even more children on the way. While it hasn’t been confirmed just yet, one of the women who Cannon already shares a child with has recently announced she is pregnant again.
“Let’s just put it this way… the stork is on the way,” Cannon told the hosts of Angela Yee’s “Lip Service” podcast. “If you thought it was a lot of kids last year…”
Cannon admitted that he slipped with many women while grieving the loss of his son, Zen. “I got depressed with the loss of my son…So I broke the celibacy. But I was probably celibate for a month and a half strong … I was trying to do it. I had a new show, new energy, I was dealing with a lot.”
Currently, model Bre Tiesi is expecting her first child with Nick Cannon and Abby De La Rosa, who he shares twins with, recently announced she is pregnant again. However, De La Rosa has not confirmed who the father of her expectant child is.
