Where Is Baker’s Mama?
However, while winning is important to any athlete, Baker Jr. seemed to have something else on his mind as well. During the game, the 22-year-old was “mic’d up,” meaning Showtime producers recorded everything he said during that particular game.
And luckily for us, some of the sound bites from that day have been shared with the world. As the YouTube video reveals, Baker Jr. was hoping to spot his mama in the crowd during the game.
However, that turned out to be a pretty difficult, but hilarious process. Throughout the game, Baker Jr. kept saying, “Where is my mama?” while sitting on the sidelines.
He even started looking for while on the field at one point, and at this point, he seemed to be stressed over the fact that he could see her, “Where is she AT?”
Thankfully, at some point in the game, Baker Jr. finally spotted his mom in the stands. With about nine seconds left in the video, Baker Jr. turns to his teammate, Raekwon McMillian, who was sitting next to him at the time, and said, “I found my mama.” To which, McMillian gave his teammate a big smile.
Hundreds of people thoroughly enjoyed the now-viral video. One commenter wrote, “I bet his momma saw that and was like nothing has changed. He’s grown and still hollering for me.”
And another person joked, “They need to go ahead and get that lady a permanent seat so he can know where she is.”
