NBA Coach Dead After Suffering Medical Emergency During Team Dinner

Hours after suffering a medical emergency at a team dinner in Salt Lake City, NBA’s Dejan Milojević, an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors, has passed away.

Dejan was just 46 years old.

Milojević has been a member of the Warriors coaching staff for the last three years. The NBA announced during the morning hours of January 17, the Warriors’ game against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday has been postponed.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr shared a statement following Milojević’s tragic passing. “We are absolutely devastated by Dejan’s sudden passing. This is a shocking and tragic blow for everyone associated with the Warriors and an incredibly difficult time for his family, friends, and all of us who had the incredible pleasure to work with him.”

“In addition to being a terrific basketball coach, Dejan was one of the most positive and beautiful human beings I have ever known, someone who brought joy and light to every single day with his passion and energy. We grieve with and for his wife, Natasa, and their children, Nikola and Masa. Their loss is unfathomable.”

ESPN is reporting Milojević’s cause of death as a heart attack.

This is a developing report.
