Lil Nas X‘s new album is dropping soon but mother’s across the country are not impressed.
The groundbreaking artist’s pregnancy-themed album announcement is getting heat from women who are either mothers or want to be but cannot do so.
Lil Nas X posted the stunning photos on Instagram this past week.
Looking fabulous in a prosthetic baby bump in a series of photos taken by photographer Adrian Per, Lil Nas X revealed that his highly anticipated album would be dropped later this month.
“SURPRISE! I can’t believe I’m finally announcing this. My little bundle of joy ‘MONTERO’ is due September 17, 2021,” Lil Nas X wrote.
Lil Nas X even posted an ultrasound (photoshopped with Montero art, of course.)
As Lil Nas X told People, this album is his baby and while he means that figuratively speaking, the photoshoot is a literal representation of that idea.
And while most were excited about Lil Nas X’s new music, others felt the photoshoot was disrespectful to mothers.

Most of the comments pleaded that Lil Nas X find God, most likely stemming from his groundbreaking music video featuring the devil and Lil Nas X…..sharing a moment. Let’s cue those hate comments, shall we?
“But….April fools pregnancy jokes were poor taste? An insult to women with fertility issues or miscarriages right? But this is ok? Just checking.”
“Pregnancy is no joke. I really love you but this was not the best idea.”
“I’m proud of him passing obstacles and coming out but….this ain’t it. He’s just doing too much and it’s turning me off. Pregnancy isn’t a joke. And him, especially being a cis man, shouldn’t be trolling about stuff he doesn’t understand or have to go through.”
“Never is that something to mock, as [they] will never understand the struggles of pregnancy.”
“This is insulting to women.”
“PRETEND pregnancy is NO joke, that goes for trans man and women, period.”
“I think with what’s going on right now having a pregnant man on your cover is bad taste. I like this guy but texas just took rights away from women with others right behind it. Shouldn’t we avoid this maybe till a better time and do a different story with him?”
