Mother and comedian Brandalyn Shropshire recently shared a video most parents can totally relate to right now titled: “The Prayer of a Desperate Mother.”
In the comedic video, Brandalyn took to Facebook on March 18 to share her struggles about how difficult it has been homeschooling her kids.
The video is half actual prayer, half stand-up routine, with lines like: “Lord God, the spirit of Common Core has attacked our household.”
Since the footage was shared, it has garnered an impressive 9.7 million views.
“Father I am a child of God. What I am not is a homeschool teacher,” she begins.
“I am at home but ain’t no teaching is going on here.”
Many were quick to praise the comedian for her relatable and down to earth quips.
Facebook User Lisa Glausier commented:
“You are an awesome spirit of the common core! May Father God help you with the carry-over and all other complicated processes of the CC.”

While another user by the name of Billi Brandon Jones revealed how she too had a similar talk to God:
“It must have been divine prayer connection this morning because I swear I prayed this during my bible study this morning!”
Let’s hope God grants mercy to parents everywhere in these trying times.
