The family of Shan’ann Watts is opening up nearly seven months after she was murdered by her husband, Chris Watts. She was pregnant at the time with their first son, Nico, something they learned the Thursday before they died.
Chris also killed their two daughters, Bella and Celeste, the same August night in 2018.

Now, in an interview with Dr. Phil, Shan’ann’s mom, dad, and brother are talking about the toll the murders have taken on them.
After calling Chris’ actions the “work of the devil,” Shan’ann’s mom, Sandy, told Dr. Phil:
“Those were my grandchildren. I loved them. They were mine. There’s many times that I just feel like giving up. If it wasn’t for God, I wouldn’t be here.”
Sandy said that she not only still hears the voices of Shan’ann, Bella, and Celeste in her head, but she also said her daughter’s spirit came to her the night she was killed.
The grieving grandma continued:
“Dr. Phil, I felt my daughter’s spirit the moment she died. Something woke me up, and I sat up, and a spear went through my forehead. I heard the Holy Spirit say, ‘Shan’ann.’ And I said, ‘Holy s**t, something happened to my daughter.’ I knew. I swear to God, I knew.
I woke up Frankie. I woke up the whole house. I said, ‘Something’s wrong with Shan’ann. I’m telling you something’s wrong.'”
Shan’ann’s brother, Frankie, added that when his mom was telling him this, they had no idea at the time that she was missing, but Sandy knew.
Now, the spirits of all three come to see Sandy, she told Dr. Phil. And she revealed what they have said to her:
“The first night, when they found Shan’ann’s body, I’m going to be honest with you, Dr. Phil, I was lying in a bed weeping so hard talking to God. I said, ‘You know, I could just end my life now and go find my daughter.’ I had fallen asleep, and the next morning, I got a phone call that they’ve found Shan’ann’s body. I said, ‘Do you want me to identify her on the phone?’ He said, ‘Yeah, you can do that.’ I said, ‘Is she beautiful?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘Does she have black hair?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ I said, ‘Then you have my daughter.'”
She continued:
“That night, I was laying in bed, and I just felt a presence. And I heard my daughter, I felt her, and I heard her say, ‘I love you, Mommy, and I’m sorry.’ She told me she was at peace.”
It was the next day that authorities found Celeste and — two hours later — Bella.
Sandy said she felt Celeste’s presence first:
“She said, ‘Hiya, Nana.’ I could see her but in my mind. But I could hear her, and she said, ‘You’ve always been so good to us, Nana. And we love you with our soul.'”
When Bella visited her shortly after, the little girl allegedly gushed to her grandmother that she can go to Disney World anytime she wants now.
Then Sandy said she met her grandson for the first time, whom she described as “beautiful” and looked just like his Uncle Frankie. She said getting that experience after their deaths “saved her life.”
Sandy also said that they were supposed to have a gender reveal party for their unborn grandson in the days before the murders took place. However, Shan’ann canceled it after Chris “began acting weird.”
The grandmother also said that she believes her granddaughters were screaming for their “mom, and their uncle Frankie, and their Pop-Pop. There is no doubt in my mind.”
Frankie added that he dreams about that night all the time.
