The Netflix docuseries Tiger King and its wacky cast of characters have captivated an entire nation. The internet and social media feeds are full of Joe Exotic inspired content from memes to deep-dive conspiracy theories there’s no shortage of enthusiasm for the show. Because many of us are practicing social distancing and many of us are fortunate enough to have access to Netflix, binge-watching and then posting about our finds is a fun way to stay connected.
A mom from Utah saw the docuseries and felt a certain way. Jennifer Lynn Holmes a mother of nine children and photographer, decided to channel her love for the show into a photoshoot with two of her little ones.
Photographer Jennifer Lynn Holmes felt the call of the tiger and staged a ‘Tiger King’ inspired photoshoot.
Holmes really nailed Joe Exotic’s mullet here! Holmes employed two of her nine, Copelyn and Cavin to create this amazing photoshoot. Holmes who is pregnant with her tenth child told Cafe Mom that the shoot “had to be.”
“We were all watching it,” she explained. “My husband and I, and the four oldest kids.”
Nothing says family like ‘Murder, Mayhem, and Madness.’
Holmes cites being ‘quarantined’ as part of the reason she took the photos.
Her son Cavin looks great as a mini Joe in the photos. “We loved the documentary … we are rednecks,” Holmes explained to WKRN. “We have been quarantined way too long!”
We know the feeling! She said that as she was taking the photos, “Their reactions on their face were killing me!”
Holmes said that she and her family are always playing around with “these kinds of things — we love doing iconic and funny films and shows.”

The day before the photoshoot she had clipped her hair extension into her 1-year-old’s hair.
The Tiger King project happened serendipitously as the day before she had put a hair extension in her son’s hair “and he was running around with a mullet and we were all in stitches laughing.”
Thankfully, it helped motivate Holmes to take the photos and share them with her many followers. Holmes is also the creator of the YouTube channel Wes Jen Plus 10 and she was ready to tackle something a bit different ahead of the photoshoot.
When you have nine kids, everything is a family affair.
The entire family joined in the fun and helped craft the perfect Joe Exotic costume and signature mustache.
“The kids actually spray-painted his black church shirt with silver and my son took the chains off his wallet so we could tie them around the tiger’s neck,” she recalled.
“The beard and the belt and stuff are photoshopped so that was easy,” she explained.
Photoshopped! Mama’s got skills!
A ‘Tiger King’ photoshoot would be incomplete without the King’s mortal enemy, Carole Baskin.
Holmes looked to her 5-year-old daughter, Copelyn to play Big Cat Rescue’s Carole Baskin.
“I just knew the baby would be the funniest,” Holmes said of her son, dressed as Joe Exotic. “And Cope because of her long, lady hair,” was chosen to dress as Baskin.
The photos of Cavin and Copelyn have now been shared almost 80,000 times on Facebook. The babies are internet famous!
Holmes has received tons of positive feedback from fans of the photos.
“At this point, I just wanted to make people smile since there’s such horrible energy going on [on] the planet right now,” Holmes said.
When asked the burning question many viewers have pondered: Do you think Carole Baskin murdered her husband? Holmes replied, “Eff yes we do. That lady looks like the definition of a sociopath! 100 percent praying mantis.”
It’s fascinating to us that so many people are more interested in that aspect of the docuseries. Joe Exotic seems like the real monster of the story.
Alas, Holmes’ photos made us smile and we hope they bring some joy your way today.
