A California based mom of two has been found dead after she killed her partner, her infant child, and seriously injured her 9-year-old shortly before the eclipse.
On April 8, 34-year-old Danielle Johnson, who warned others about the total solar eclipse on social media, stabbed her partner, identified as 29-year-old Jaelen Chaney, to death after getting into an argument, before putting her kids in her vehicle and driving down a busy LA freeway around 4:30 a.m. local time.
Johnson pushed both her 8-month-old and her 9-year-old out of the moving car, before driving the Porsche SUV in excess of 100 miles-per-hour into a tree in Redondo Beach.
She did not survive.
According to a press release by the LAPD, the 8-month-old child was pronounced dead at the scene after sustaining fatal injuries. The 9-year-old sustained “moderate injuries from the fall and was transported to a local hospital.”
“Around 7:35 a.m., neighbors on Variel Avenue observed the front door open, which prompted them to check on the well-being of the residents,” the press released continued. “It was at that time Chaney was discovered deceased in the apartment.”
Police say “a knife with biological evidence was later recovered from the scene” leading them to believe the mom of two had killed Chaney before fleeing from their home with her two kids.
According to the Associated Press, Danielle Johnson was an astrology influencer and recording artist who in the days leading up to the eclipse warned about it being “the epitome of spiritual warfare.”
However, despite her dark posts on social media, police say they are not considering the eclipse to be a contributing factor to her deadly actions.
Lt. Guy Golan in a statement told the AP “we just don’t know why she did what she did. We’ve taken all the facts we can, but without being able to interview her and without having something more tangible than a post on X, I don’t know how much weight you can give to somebody (saying) there’s an apocalypse and attribute it to one of the most horrific murders we’ve had in LA.”
