When going out in public during a global pandemic, be that to get food or other essential items, it is recommended that you avoid touching your face and that you wear gloves and a face mask, not only to protect yourself but those around you.

However for one mom, when she needed to go out in public, her husband insisted that she wear a mask. But because they didn’t have any masks laying around, and because they are difficult to come by she had to get inventive.

And what she ultimately found to wear that would protect her face is now going viral. As the mom, Kelly Hogan Painter, revealed on Facebook in a video that now has over 75,000 views, what she decided to wear she found in her children’s toy box.

Because she didn’t have a usual mask laying around, Painter grabbed her kid’s lifesize Buzz Lightyear helmet to wear around the grocery store and filmed herself doing so. She wrote on Facebook after sharing the video, “If y’all see me on the news tonight PLEASE don’t tell my mama. She would be so embarrassed #jokesonyouhubby #sendhelp2020.”

Painter later added in the comments section, “I just want to make sure that through all of this mess that we keep our faith and our SMILES! I [reckon] the next time that I venture out into uncharted space that I will brush my hair and put makeup on though. Y’all stay safe!”
