As people across the globe continue to react to the coronavirus pandemic, certain hard-to-get products like hand sanitizer and toilet paper have become the hottest items on the market. The frenzy has led many to hoard the most desirable items, causing a rise in prices and the emptying of store shelves.
One teen in Leeds, England saw this as an opportunity to make money off his supply of hand sanitizer.

Thirteen-year-old Oliver Cooper decided to capitalize on the moment by monetizing his sanitizer “by the squirt,” CafeMom reports. Administrators busted the Dixons Unity Academy student for charging his peers for germ protection.
Understandably, his mother was not happy about her son’s decision to take advantage of people during a pandemic. “This is a picture of my teenage son just getting in from school,” his mom, Jenny Tompkins, shared in a Facebook post. “Why is he getting in from school at 10:53 a.m. you ask? Schools don’t finish until 3 pm.”

Turns out officials did not appreciate his “entrepreneurial spirit” either and decided to suspend him from school. “The little turd has just been expelled from school for the day after been caught charging students 50p a squirt for hand sanitizer to protect themselves from the bloody coronavirus!!”
However, before he was caught, the young man did turn a small profit. “For those asking, he made £9!” his mom added. “He bought a multipack of Doritos and [is] saving the rest to buy a kebab later.”
As Tompkins concluded in her post, it was “very hard to discipline this behavior when his dad phones him from work to call him a legend.” In the end, Tompkins did end up disciplining her son and teaching him why what he did was wrong.
