Parents and technology, it’s not always a seamless relationship. Much of the time, it’s parents asking their kids how to use a function on their phone, or how to find that pesky file they just accidentally deleted.
But sometimes, those technological mishaps becomes a story that you’ll never forget and a memory that you’ll both cherish and laugh at forever.

Take Susan Griego for example, as KOB4 reports, after her daughter’s boyfriend asked her for her daughter’s hand in marriage, she couldn’t wait to witness the moment her daughter got engaged.
Griego’s soon-to-be son-in-law Ben choose the Penguin exhibit at the Albuquerque Biopark to pop the question. “Penguins, between me and Amber, are kind of a thing so I figured so why not just do it at the penguin exhibit.”
In fact, she was so excited for the beautiful moment to take place that Griego took out her phone in order to record it and keep the memory forever. However, when Griego started filming the proposal, she had no idea that instead of recording the big moment, she was actually taking a selfie.
Meaning, she recorded her reaction instead. Griego told KOB4:
“My camera phone wasn’t working well enough so I said ‘Let me have your phone Amber and I’ll take some film. I couldn’t figure out how to work it and I’m taking a selfie of myself and I realize I’m filming myself instead of them and I’m laughing and we’re all laughing and I guess I’m not very good at photography.”

And while her daughter Amber would have loved to have a video of her now-fiancé’s proposal, she told KOB4 that her mom’s mistake couldn’t sum up their relationship better. “People have asked about it. I feel like that’s kind of our relationship. Something wacky and random. It’s the perfect start to this.”
She added in an interview with CNN, “I cried, but it was tears of joy. I had no clue this was coming and was definitely surprised. I think the selfie clip my mom got was hilarious. I will always have the memory.” How amazing is this? Talk about a memory for the ages.
