In an interview, while a guest on Michael, Sara and Keke, the couple revealed that the night Mike was released, they conceived their first child together. “The night he came home we actually conceived,” Lauren said on the show.
However, it was roughly six or seven weeks later that Lauren endured a miscarriage. Lauren went on to say that when she first learned they were expecting, it felt like all they have been through in their relationship and all the challenges they faced were just the lead up to this one joyful moment.
“When I found out we were pregnant I felt like this is why we went through all these challenges for years and that this was our time and it was our blessing. It was hard. It was really difficult.”
She continued, “I rely on my faith to get me through everything in life, especially the challenging things we’ve gone through. If I didn’t have my faith, I wouldn’t be here.”
Lauren said it was important for her to share her truth and her experience with miscarriage, not only to help other women know they aren’t alone but she believes being honest about her grief will help her heal.
Co-host Sara Haines went on to commend Lauren for sharing her story, tell her, “I think what you’re doing is so important. So many women don’t hear about this.”
She then added, “Good things will come, but it helps to have someone say in your darkest time, ‘Don’t worry you’re not alone,’ and somebody is hearing that today.”
According to Healthline, the term miscarriage is used for the early loss of a pregnancy that occurs before a woman is 20 weeks pregnant. “It’s reported that between 10 and 15 percent of all known pregnancies end in miscarriage.”

Two months later, in January, as the Ashbury Park Press reports, Mike surrendered himself and begin his eight-month stint in prison. He said during his sentencing hearing in 2018, “Today I’m a man I should have been years ago. I was inexperienced, uneducated and immature to handle everything that came with overnight success.”
