Michelle Williams and Thomas Kail Welcome First Baby Together

Michelle Williams and Thomas Kail have welcomed their first baby together! Their child joins Williams’ daughter Matilda, 14, whom she shared with the late actor, Heath Ledger.

The actress’s pregnancy announcement first happened in late December when PEOPLE confirmed that the pair were expecting their first child and were also, engaged.

A source revealed to PEOPLE how her teen daughter played matchmaker.

Previously, Williams and Kail, 42, worked together on the series Fosse/Verdon, in which Williams won multiple accolades, including a 2020 SAG Award.

In her acceptance speech, the then-expectant mother thanked the director, who was also at the event, along with her daughter.

“Tommy, like everything else in our life, I share this [award] with you,” she said. “And Matilda, it’s one thing to be completely honest as an actor — it’s another thing to be completely honest as a human being.”

“And that’s just who you are and how you live, and you teach me just by being you,” Williams added.

And while the very private couple keeps out of the public eye, they did share a walk on the Golden Globe Awards red carpet in January, with William keeping her baby a secret.

“Michelle fell in love,” a source later revealed to PEOPLE. “She is happy and fulfilled and ready for another child.”

The pair had circulating rumors about their secret nuptials in March after Kail was photographed wearing a wedding band on his wedding finger while out with Williams.

After Ledger’s death in 2008, Williams has been candid about finding love.

“I never gave up on love,” she told Vanity Fair in 2018.

“I always say to Matilda, ‘Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.’ “
