Melania Trump Continues to Avoid Media Attention Amid Donald Trump’s Legal Troubles

America got to see a lot of Melania Trump in the four years Donald Trump was President of the United States, but she has mostly gone since his last day in office as she continues to avoid the media and the public in general – which isn’t much of a surprise, considering the legal turmoil surrounding her husband.

Many of you might remember her farewell message on January 18, 2021 – two days before Joe Biden took office. She described her role as First Lady as ‘the greatest honor of my life’ and called the previous four years ‘unforgettable.’ She echoed that sentiment two days later at Biden’s official inauguration.

Over the past 31 months, Melania Trump has only been seen and/or heard from a handful of times – seven of which were notable appearances and/or statements between November 2021 and April 2023. Don’t worry, we’re going to run you through a brief timeline of what Melania has been up to recently.

On November 6, 2021 – roughly 10 months after Donald Trump left office – Melania Trump attended a Republican Gala at Mar-a-Lago, where she was joined by the Log Cabin Republicans, Richard Grenell, and the Liberty Education Forum. She was allegedly paid for her appearance and subsequent speech.

With Christmas 2021 just a few weeks away, she surprised a U.S. Coast Guard station in Florida on December 17, 2021, and thanked members of the Coast Guard for their service in an Instagram post later that day, urging everyone to ‘say a special prayer for our great service members’ during the Xmas holiday.

Five months later, on May 15, 2022, Melania Trump did an interview with Fox News’ Fox and Friends and accused the media of being ‘biased’ – referring to Vogue not featuring her on the cover of their magazine, which they’ve traditionally done with First Ladies. She also discussed a potential return as First Lady.

On July 22, 2022, Melania released an official statement about the US Capitol Attack that unfolded on January 6, 2021. She explained how she was ‘fulfilling one of my duties as First Lady’ when the attack on the Capitol unfolded and that she was unaware of what was transpiring – adding she condemns violence.

Melania Trump was present when Donald Trump made his official presidential campaign announcement on November 15, 2022. While she didn’t speak at the event, she was joined by other family members, including Eric and Lara Trump, his son Barron, his son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Kimberly Guilfoyle.

One month later, on December 10, 2022, Melania continued to show her support for Richard Grenell’s Fix California initiative and the Log Cabin Republicans organization – where she vowed to maintain a strict ‘focus on the welfare of our Nation’s children through Fostering the Future, a Be Best initiative.’

Her most recent statement came on April 11, 2023, when her office tweeted about ‘assumptions’ by the media over the ‘former First Lady’s stance on subjects.’ She urged her followers to ‘exercise caution and good judgment when determining whether or not’ these stories about Melania are true or not.

In the months since Melania Trump has primarily been concerned about her family – most notably, her mother and son – as she continues to live a private life at Mar-a-Lago. She has chosen to stay out of the public light as much as possible and doesn’t want to talk about Donald’s indictments and legal issues.

According to a source, “Barron has always been a first priority in [Melania’s] life. Of course she is worried and concerned about the legal issues, but she has not done anything more to protect Barron now than she ever did. She has always put him first. She is a good mother.”

Barron is currently a senior in high school and is set to graduate from the Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach, Florida in 2024.
