Meghan McCain is settling into the early days of being a new mom. As with any new endeavor, growing pains are to be expected. And, for some breastfeeding parents, those pains can be rather nipple-acute.
The View commentator took to Twitter on Monday to discuss her recent experience with nursing after the birth of her daughter Liberty Sage on September 28.
Meghan McCain joked about her nipples falling off from breastfeeding only to be absolutely shocked by another mom’s reply.
I know there is a LOT going on in the world that is much more important but I’m in the throes of newborn land…. but I just wanted to know if your nipples can actually fall off from breast feeding? ????????????????????

“I know there is a LOT going on in the world that is much more important but I’m in the throes of newborn land…. but I just wanted to know if your nipples can actually fall off from breast feeding?” she joked along with emoji to express her distress.
But, in a response to her tweet, Meghan found a possibility that would give anyone pause.
Actually, yes. One of mine did.

“Actually, yes,” a mom replied. “One of mine did.”
Meghan promptly replied with, “Wait WHAT?!?!!”
It’s a little too graphic for twitter. Although the bar is set pretty low these days…Just wrote you

“It’s a little too graphic for twitter,” the person replied. “Although the bar is set pretty low these days… Just wrote you.”
At this point, we didn’t know anything could shock us, but we share Meghan’s surprise.
As we reported, the daytime TV star and husband, Ben Domenech welcomed their first child together in late September. Shortly after the new parents confirmed their happy news, McCain took to Twitter to tell fans that she felt “blessed” for the new addition to the growing family.
“Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful well wishes and overwhelming kindness,” she wrote. “Ben and I are completely and utterly in love with our daughter and feeling indescribably blessed/blissed out.”

The tweet came just hours before the first, disastrous presidential debate. “We will be watching her first debate as a family together tonight!” Meghan added.
We are hopeful (and almost sure) that this child is too young to possibly remember it.
The matriarch of the McCain family, Cindy McCain also celebrated the arrival of Liberty who is her third grandchild. She wrote that Meghan’s late father, Senator John McCain is looking at his “darling” grandaughter from above.
“I’m so pleased to announce the birth of my third grandchild, Liberty Sage,” Cindy wrote. “A darling baby girl! I know John is looking down!”

The birth of Liberty comes three years after Meghan and Domenech became husband and wife and less than a month before Meghan will celebrate her 36th birthday.
The couple has not shared an image of their newborn yet, but we eagerly await it. Like every new parent, Meghan is still figuring out the, often, tricky process of breastfeeding. We wish her luck and congratulations on her new baby!
