Just one day after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their as-yet-unnamed baby boy, Kate Middleton and Prince William spoke out with words of support and encouragement.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge — that would be Kate and William, if you didn’t know — were in attendance at The King’s Cup Regatta in London on Tuesday, May 7. There, they fielded questions about Meghan and Harry’s new bundle of joy, because the people are excited and want answers.
Unfortunately, answers the people did not get. The pair remained mum when asked if they knew the name of the baby. “As William said, we look forward to meeting him and finding out what his name is going to be,” Kate said in response to one question.
The pair did offer some words of encouragement and excitement for the new parents. William, in fact, seemed beyond thrilled to be an uncle, though his motivations may have more to do with the parental knowledge he’s already accumulated. “I’m very pleased,” William said, “to welcome my own brother to the sleep deprivation society that is parenting.” Very well said, William. Here’s that clip:
If anyone knows about sleep deprivation, it’s Kate and William, who welcomed their third child, Prince Louis, a year ago. They are also parents to five-year-old Prince George and four-year-old Princess Charlotte.
Princess Charlotte just turned four on May 2. Shortly after the big day, the official Kensington Palace Instagram shared adorable new photos of Charlotte, who, it must be said, looks more and more like both of her parents every day.
Meghan, Harry, and their baby are set to appear in public for the first time since the birth today, May 9, 2019. It is likely they will reveal the name they have chosen for their boy.
In case you missed it, here is a video of the brief remarks Harry made yesterday after the birth was announced.
