Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Respond to Royal Family’s Decision to Keep Bullying Investigation a Secret

As Mamas Uncut reported earlier this week, the investigation which looked into how the palace handled the allegations that Meghan Markle bullied some of her staff has since concluded. However, the palace has made the decision to not released the findings from the investigation.

The investigation began just a few days before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah aired on national television in March 20201. Now E! News is reporting that Markle and Harry are “disappointed” to learn that the results of the investigation will remain a secret.

According to E! News, the couple was hoping to gain some closure from the investigation. As of right now, that however will not be the case.

At the start of the investigation, Buckingham Palace released a statement saying they “are clearly very concerned about allegations in The Times following claims made by former staff of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.”

Both Meghan and Harry have denied the bullying accusations, saying at the time, that it was all a part of a smear campaign against Meghan. In their initial statement, Markle said she was “saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.”

The couple added that Meghan was “determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good.”

In a statement revealing the conclusion of the investigation, a Palace spokesperson said, “The review of the handling of historic bullying allegations was aimed at enabling the Royal Households to consider potential improvements to HR policies and procedures. The review has been completed, and recommendations on our policies and procedures have been taken forward.”

The statement further explained that it allegedly was not investigating whether or not Meghan bullied employees but rather, how the Palace responded to bullying complaints when they were made. A royal source told members of the press that the report was not being released to “protect the privacy of those who participated in the inquiry this past week.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Son’s Godparents Revealed

Shortly after news that the investigation results would remain private, rumors of who their son’s godparents are have made their way around various news sites. According to Yahoo! Meghan and Harry asked one of Harry’s former nannies and Harry’s mentor to do the honors.

Archie, who is the couple’s first child together, was born in May 2019. Ever since, who his godparents are have remained a mystery.

That is until now. As Yahoo! reports, Tiggy Pettifer—who was Harry’s nanny when he was just a boy, and Mark Dyer—a mentor and friend of Harry’s were asked to help guide Archie into adulthood.

It’s unclear if Archie’s little sister, Harry and Meghan’s second child, Lilibet, was ever baptized. While Archie was born in England while his parents were still senior members of the Royal Family, that was not the case for Lilibet, who was born after Harry and Meghan stepped down from their royal duties and moved to California.

It continues to remain a mystery who might be Lilibet’s godparents if she has them.
