Matthew Taylor Coleman allegedly texted a friend saying he wanted to have more children just five weeks before he was arrested for allegedly killing his two children.
According to the June 30 text exchange, he spoke on his religious faith as well as his thoughts on fatherhood.
When the friend asked if he was done having kids, Coleman wrote “No. I want at least 4.”
The friend then asked how he would navigate having four young children. “I’m immune to body fluids at this point,” Coleman responded. “We’re potty training Kaleo and I change Roxy’s diapers all the time. doesnt phase [sp] me.”
“Abby is good, kids are good, business is good,” he texted. “The best is yet to come.”
Coleman, 40, is facing charges of foreign murder in the killings of children, including his 2-year-old son and 10-month-old daughter.
A law enforcement affidavit filed in court revealed that Coleman confessed to killing his children with a spearfishing gun in Mexico, informing FBI agents “he believed his children were going to grow into monsters so he had to kill them.”
Coleman, who owned the Lovewater Surf School with his wife, informed officials that he was “enlightened by QAnon and Illuminati conspiracy theories” and believed his wife “possessed serpent DNA and had passed it onto his children.”
“M. Coleman was asked whether he knew what he did was wrong,” Special Agent Jennifer Bannon wrote in the affidavit. “M. Coleman stated that he knew it was wrong, but it was the only course of action that would save the world.”

QAnon is a collective that worships Satan and operates a global child trafficking network. Some QAnon believers think the cabal is made up of lizard people, an older conspiracy theory with links to antisemitism.
It is not clear just how long Coleman was mesmerized by the delusion. His wife reported him and their two children as missing after he took off with them in the family’s Mercedes-Benz van on Saturday with the children.
She informed Santa Barbara police that the family had planned to go on a camping trip, but instead, Coleman had left with the children and didn’t tell her where he was going.
His wife was worried as he did not have a car seat for either child, but she didn’t think he would harm the children.
