At 36 weeks pregnant, “Married at First Sight” star Jamie Otis and her husband Doug Hehner revealed that they were in the hospital awaiting the arrival of their twin boys.
Two weeks after announcing they were pregnant with their third child on Feb. 20, Otis revealed her dreams came true and they were expecting twins.
Now, those twins have made their grand arrival. On Sept. 18, Otis wrote on Instagram that she honestly didn’t “feel ready to birth these sweet two babies.”
“I’ve been in complete denial that I’m actually in labor,” she continued. “I’ve had next to no pain since the contractions started last night. And I still can’t believe we are having TWINS!”
Otis added that “after 3 years trying to conceive and being diagnosed with secondary infertility. It just doesn’t feel real!”
“I was hoping to keep them in until at least 37 weeks, but 36 weeks isn’t too bad either,” Otis admitted.
Otis is also mom to her two oldest children, daughter Henley and son Hendrix. “I’ve been praying for this for my whole life and I can’t believe God is blessing us with this,” Jamie wrote in her pregnancy announcement.
“I’m going to take (it) as a sign from God that it’s meant to happen so I can focus on healing & making sure these babies stay out of NICU. They’re doing GREAT but have had blood sugar problems & nursing/feeding them hasn’t been easy,” she wrote on her Instagram story on Sept. 20 after welcoming their twins.
In the first photos shared of the boys, Otis said the brothers “instantly held hands.”
“This still feels like a dream. I genuinely have identical twins! I literally prayed for this.”
Otis and Hehner are best known for meeting while being contestants on “Married at First Sight.” The couple shares much of their life as a growing family on social media.
After marrying one another on the show 10 years ago, the couple has been open books for the last decade sharing the ups and downs of marriage and parenting.
When they first shared the news of this pregnancy with their “best frans,” Otis and Hehner shared their raw reactions on YouTube as well as a lengthy post on Instagram.
“It’s been over three years of trying,” they wrote. “I’ve been diagnosed with secondary infertility, a blocked fallopian tube, MTHFR, hypothyroidism, ‘low-normal’ AMH, advanced maternal age, and I’m probably missing something else that was thrown at us. BUT GOD WILL WORK MIRACLES IF YOU BELIEVE!”
