Mark Wahlberg Says 13-Year-Old Daughter, Grace, Shares Same Work Ethic as Him

Mark Wahlberg was spotted at The Current in Boston’s Seaport this past weekend (June 3) – where he hosted a ‘meet and greet’ to promote his MUNICIPAL apparel brand at their pop-up shop. It was there that PEOPLE caught up with the Ted actor, who celebrated his 52nd birthday on Monday (June 5).

PEOPLE asked him about his family, which resulted in him revealing which of his kids is most like him – and it’s his 13-year-old daughter, Grace, who he describes as his ‘mini-me.’ More specifically, he cited her work ethic, dedication, and relentless attitude when it comes to achieving the goals she sets for herself.

“She’s doing things that my other kids are kind of now starting to think, ‘Well, we’ve got to start doing something because she’s got it all figured out, what she wants to do and how she wants to do it. And she’s doing the work,” Mark says of his daughter, who he shares with American model Rhea Durham

Grace Wahlberg has taken a strong interest in horse riding and is already making a name for herself as an equestrian – proving she has a future in the sport if she sticks with it. Her father says her goal is to ‘go up in meters and to be a Grand Prix Jumper,’ but admits that she needs to continue training to get there.

“I called her this morning at like 10 o’clock. I wanted to catch her before she left to go to the barn. She was already at the barn on the horse. So she’s she’s got my work ethic for sure,” he adds. “She does not mess around. If you’ve even think about getting her there late or missing something, it’s a big problem.”

Mark Wahlberg and Rhea Durham share four children together – sons Brendan, 14, and Michael, 17, and daughters Ella, 19, and Grace, 13. The first three children were born before the couple decided to tie the knot on August 1, 2009, while Grace was born in January 2010 – just five months after their wedding.

The appearance at Boston’s Seaport comes roughly eight months since he moved his family from Los Angeles to Las Vegas – a move that many big-name celebrities have made over the past year. “They love Vegas,” Wahlberg said in April of his family’s recent move. “Everybody is thriving there, it’s been great.”

Grace Does a Spot-On Mark Wahlberg Impression

On April 10, Mark Wahlberg posted a hilarious video of his daughter, Grace, doing a spot-on impression of her father while in the family’s kitchen. She did a parody of his regular ‘fit checks’ with his MUNICIPAL clothing brand and even used some of his favorite sayings – both mimicking his mannerism and adage.

After going through her MUNICIPALshoes, shorts, sweatshirt, and hat, she urged his fans to ‘stay prayed up’ (one of his favorite sayings) and to ‘make your protein shakes’ – for the gains, of course. She then looks down at her watch and asks what time it is. “Aw, 8 a.m., I gotta go to bed,” she joked of her father.

The father-daughter duo share the same work ethic and mannerisms, but the similarities don’t stop there. In December 2022, Mark Wahlberg posted a photo of his daughter and compared it to a photo of a younger Mark with long hair. “They say we look alike?” he wrote in the Instagram caption – and we agree!
