Mama June has been on a downward spiral for the past few months: She was arrested for being under the influence of crack cocaine, her daughter, Honey Boo Boo, moved out of her house because she’s afraid to live with her mother, her family staged a failed intervention and, most recently, she was captured on video trying to help her very intoxicated boyfriend, Geno Doak, get safely into the house after he crashed his car into her garage.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Mama June and her family any time soon. Sources close to Mama June shared with TMZ that the family believes her boyfriend, Geno Doak, “has her under his thumb and is playing mind games to keep control of her and locked away in a ‘mental prison.’”
The sources go on to say that Doak is with Mama June for her money, which he spends as he likes. They also claim that he is emotionally manipulating her into believing that her family is “against her,” even though they are simply worried about her and want to get her out of a damaging situation.
Honey Boo Boo Tries to Get Through to Mama June (Again)
According to TMZ, Mama June’s daughter, Honey Boo Boo, visited her mom after Doak crashed his car into his garage while clearly under the influence. Unfortunately, her attempts to point out that Doak is the problem were futile. Mama June is convinced there’s nothing wrong with him or their relationship. Meanwhile, her family is gravely concerned that Mama June is endangering herself.
Since the family’s failed intervention, Honey Boo Boo has been living with her sister, Pumpkin, 19. Honey Boo Boo has made it clear that she has no plans to move back home until Doak is completely out of the picture. Luckily, the sisters appear to be getting along well. Last week, she shared a picture of herself, Pumpkin, John Efird and baby Ella Grace, captioning the photo, “#FamilyFirst.”
