Lori Vallow’s son Colby Ryan‘s rape charges have been dropped. The charges were dropped last week, per The East Idaho News.

“The case is under review by our office. The dismissal was without prejudice, which allows us to refile charges,” Jennifer Liewer from the Maricopa County Attorney’s office told EastIdahoNews.com.
Police alleged Ryan, 26, raped a woman – his estranged wife – at her Mesa, Arizona home.
The victim, who was not publicly identified, informed officers that Ryan went to her home on August 31 to watch television, according to a probable cause statement.

The pair are separated and do not live together. The woman informed police that the two engaged in consensual kissing but that she did not want to have sexual intercourse.
She told Ryan several times to stop, but he inappropriately touched her and then raped her, the probable cause statement says.
As Ryan pushed to do more, the victim decided she didn’t want to continue and told Ryan, “stop,” “this isn’t a good idea” and “I don’t want to do this,” per the court paperwork.
Afterward, Ryan told his wife that “he was sorry and started to cry,” the document says. The next day, the woman recorded a conversation with Ryan, who is alleged to have admitted to inappropriately touching and raping her.
“During the recorded conversation the Defendant agreed that he ‘raped’ the Victim,” the probable cause affidavit says. Detectives also said Ryan “made verbal admissions” during a police interview, the document says.
Ryan was released from custody this past Thursday and must abide by conditions for his release, including not initiating contact with the alleged victim or the arresting officers and not possessing any drugs without valid prescriptions.
Colby Ryan is also a father to two children. In April 2022, he published his own book called The God Over Odds, about how his faith helped him deal with the truth of what happened to his family.
Lori Vallow Daybell, Ryan’s mother, and her husband Chad Daybell are charged in Idaho with multiple counts of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder for the deaths of Ryan’s siblings – 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and 16-year-old Tylee Ryan – and Chad’s first wife, Tammy Daybell.
