A little more than a week after a psychiatric evaluation deemed Lori Vallow incompetent to stand trial, she has been admitted into a psychiatric hospital. After the judge made the decision to admit Vallow into a state mental health facility the same day her husband, Chad Daybell entered a not guilty plea for the three murder charges against him, The Seattle Times reports.

According to East Idaho News, Vallow will enter into the care of the Department of Health and Welfare. There she will undergo treatment to “restore her mental competency.”

The decision to admit Vallow comes after Judge Steven Boyce put a stay on her criminal case due to her competency being called into question. “The court finds that the Defendant does lack (the) capacity to make informed decisions about treatment,” Boyce wrote in the order. “The court finds that the defendant is not dangerously mentally ill.”

This decision comes after Vallow and her Daybell were indicted on first-degree murder charges. The husband and wife are accused of killing Vallow’s children, JJ Vallow and Tylee Ryan.

JJ and Tylee had been missing since September 2019. Their bodies were discovered on year ago, on June 9, 2020 on land owned by Daybell.

Daybell is also accused of killing his first wife, Tammy Daybell, who died a suspicious death, just weeks before Lori and Chad became husband and wife. Daybell was a gravedigger, who also authored religion-based books about “prophecy and the end of the world.” And Vallow, according to several reports, believed she was the reincarnation of God and that her children were Zombies.

Rexburg Police Department

In the past, police were told Vallow reportedly used to tell people that Tylee “died years ago.” It was only after JJ’s grandparents requested a wellness check on their grandson that they were reported missing. The grandparents requested the check in November 2019, but the last time anyone saw JJ or Tylee was in September 2019.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, J.J. was only 7 years old when he was last seen on September 23, 2019, after Vallow reportedly pulled him out of school saying she was preparing to homeschool him. And Tylee was just 17 years old when she was last seen on September 8, 2019 while on a trip to Yellowstone.

JJ was only 7 years old and Tylee was 17.
