Sometimes in life, you just have to laugh. Thanks to two bloggers, Stephanie Hollifield and Eliza Morrill, the two moms who run the blog Momstrosity, we can all laugh a bit more this week. The two parodied Lizzo’s popular single, “Truth Hurts,” making the lyrics all about the real-life hilarity and struggles of being a parent.
The moms cover everything in the song – from constantly wiping your kid’s face clean and playing dress-up to the importance of taking a little time for yourself once in a while.

Not only did the moms change the lyrics, they also filmed a music video to accompany the launch of their music career. In addition to the updated lyrics, the moms had fun with the video, pouring apple juice into large wine glasses, pounding Goldfish crackers and playing the recorder (which, honestly, may trigger some parents).

Lizzo’s “Truth Hurts,” which is steadily climbing up the Billboard music charts, was officially released in 2017 but only really caught on within the last few months, following the release of her debut album, Cuz I Love You, in April.
In the original song, Lizzo sing-raps the iconic line, “I just took a DNA test / turns out I’m 100 percent that b***h.” In the Momstrosity parody, that line is changed to “I just took a DNA test / turns out I’m 100 percent that mom.” And aren’t we all, when you really think about it?
