Lindsay Shiver and her ex-husband, Robert Shiver, were already in the middle of divorce proceedings when the two got into a heated argument at their shared home in Thomasville, Georgia. The incident happened on July 16 and Lindsay didn’t hesitate to get the police involved – citing a fear for her safety.
New bodycam footage, which was shared by true-crime podcast Plunder, is giving us a firsthand look at what went down when police officers arrived at the home. While speaking to an officer, Lindsay alleged that Robert pushed her during an argument and started getting aggressive before she called the police.
“We have filed for divorce, but living in the same house. It’s hell on earth, as you can imagine. He just got super aggressive and that’s when I called immediately. Because he’s been physical before and I’m just not doing that,” she said. The officer explained there’s not much they can do unless she had evidence.
Later in the video, Robert Shiver can be seen talking to the officers and explaining the origin of their argument. Apparently, Lindsay had plans to go to Key West and Robert had plans to go to the Bahamas with their kids, but Lindsay changed her plans and wanted to go to the Bahamas – which he disputed.
He further explained that they were planning on traveling by way of their private jet – which they both own 25% of, while a third-party owns the other 50%. Robert claimed that her being on the plane would ‘mess with the kids’ heads’ since they’re getting divorced, while she argued that it’s just a one-hour plane ride.
Lindsay Shiver also argued that him not wanting her on the plane ‘doesn’t mean you get aggressive and push me out of the way.’ Of course, Robert insisted that he ‘did not push [her] or anything’ and told the police to ‘ask all the people that I know if I’m an aggressive or abusive person’ – disputing his ex-wife’s claims.
At one point during the exchange, a female officer recommended they don’t go on vacation together – which Robert agreed with, but Lindsay didn’t. Nonetheless, they ended up going to the Bahamas and, while they spent that time away from one another, things took an unexpected turn for the worse.
Lindsay Shiver Arrested for Plotting to Kill Her Ex-Husband
On July 21, five days after police were called to their home in Thomasville, Lindsay Shiver was arrested in the Bahamas after Bahamian police learned of a murder-for-hire plot targeting her ex-husband, Robert Shiver – who was also in the Bahamas at the time. The couple had filed for divorce in early-April 2023.
The police became aware of the plot while investigating a separate incident – in which Lindsay’s lover, Terrance Bethel, 28, was a suspect. After going through Bethel’s cell phone, police unearthed a series of threatening and concerning texts between Lindsay, Bethel, and alleged hitman Faron Newbold, 29.
Among the texts were photos of Robert Shiver and a message from Lindsay Shiver saying ‘kill him.’ She was arrested on July 21 and spent 19 days in the Fox Hill prison in Nassau, Bahamas before being granted a $100,000 bail. She must report to the police three times per week and wear an electronic monitoring tag.
