Liam Payne’s girlfriend reveals heartbreaking plans he made with her weeks before his death

One Direction star Liam Payne was headed towards a happily ever after with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, before his tragic death.

Cassidy, 25, revealed the heartbreaking news in an Instagram tribute on Oct. 23, just one week after the singer fell to his death from the third floor balcony of his Buenos Aires hotel room on Oct.16.

In the midst of reminiscing about what could’ve been, she revealed a tiny, but significant detail about the future of her relationship with Payne.

“A few weeks ago, we sat outside on a beautiful evening manifesting our lives together,” she shared in the post before referencing a note he wrote to her that day.

The note, which she shared a photo of, read, “Me and Kate to marry within a year/engaged & together forever 444.”

Cassidy says she keeps the note close to her, even though Payne told her “not to look at it.” And while he’s no longer physically here, she knows he’ll always be right by her side.

“Liam, I know we’ll be together forever, but not in the way we had planned,” she added. “You’ll always be with me. I’ve gained a guardian angel.”

Her emotional message was filled with admiration for the man she describes as her “best friend” and “love of my life.”

She praised Payne for bringing “so much happiness and positivity to everyone,” including his millions of fans, family, and friends who all loved him.

“You are—because I can’t say were—my best friend, the love of my life, and everyone you touched felt just as special as I did,” she wrote. “Your energy was contagious, lighting up every room you walked into.”

She goes on to explain how “none of this feels real” and how she’s struggling to “figure out how to live in a world” without Liam by her side.

Cassidy concluded the message with one last promise to the man she was supposed to marry.

“I will love you for the rest of my life and beyond, carrying our dreams and memories with me everywhere I go,” she wrote, signing her name with the same three numbers Liam wrote on his note, “444.”

Cassidy was with Payne in Argentina for the two weeks leading up to his death. She returned home to Miami just a few days before the tragic accident after feeling homesick.

As Cassidy explained in a TikTok she made prior to his death, the trip was originally supposed to be a four-day trip, but they extended their stay.

Missing her life back in Miami, Cassidy eventually left South America on her own.
