UPDATE: Producer makes decision to hold off sharing Liam Payne’s new single.

More than seven months since One Direction star Liam Payne released a new song, one of his collaborators has shared some news.

On Oct. 28, Grammy-winning producer Sam Pounds took to social media to announce the release date of his next song titled “Do No Wrong,” featuring a very special artist.

Pounds dedicated the song to Payne’s family and friends, who continue to mourn following the singer’s tragic death two weeks ago.

“I pray that this will be a blessing to the world like Liam has always dreamed,” Pounds wrote in his post, alongside images of the song’s cover art.

“I pray angels will comfort you all everyday while listening,” he continued.

Payne tragically died on Oct. 16 after falling from the third-floor balcony of his Buenos Aires hotel room. He was just 31 years old at the time of his death.

In his most recent announcement, Pounds prays that the song “will be a blessing to Ruth, Bear, and the entire family,” referring to his sister, Ruth Gibbins, and son, Bear Grey Payne.

Payne shares Bear, 7, with his ex-girlfriend, Cheryl Cole. The couple started dating in 2016, but broke it off two years later.

“I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes. I pray supernatural positive healing power will embrace each and every one of you,” Pounds continued. “Let’s all BE the blessing.”

Pounds has since deleted the post on X, People reported.

Payne started to make a name for himself in 2008 and 2010 while appearing as a solo act on the British television series “The X Factor.”

While he was eliminated both times, he returned to the show in 2010 and joined One Direction at the request of Simon Cowell and Nicole Scherzinger.

That’s when Payne met Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, and the rest is history.

Payne began his career as a solo artist after the band took an indefinite hiatus in 2016. He released his first solo album, titled LP1, in 2019.

His newest single with Pounds will be his first song since his “Teardrops” single, which he released in May. As of Oct. 29, the song has 10,338,938 plays on Spotify.

According to Pounds, he’ll be releasing three different versions of “Do No Wrong,” including the original, a “Live Mix,” and an “a cappella” version.

“I can’t believe you are gone in this way,” he wrote in the caption. “This is how I’ll always remember brother………..The happy, funny, and talented brother, father, and friend.”

Pounds returned to Instagram on Oct. 22 to share more behind the scenes footage of him and Payne working on “Do No Wrong.”
