LeBron James took to his Instagram account on July 29 to share a video of his eldest son, Bronny James (born LeBron James Jr.), playing the piano while his two siblings watch and his father records. The significance of the video is that it comes less than one week after Bronny suffered cardiac arrest.
“GRAND RISING!! God Is Great! @bronny YOU ARE AMAZING!!! Simple as that! Keep going Young ????????!!! We’re here right with you every step of the way!” LeBron James wrote in the caption of a post that received more than 2.3 million likes in 24 hours. He didn’t specify when or where the video was taken.
During the video, LeBron James can be heard praising his son as a ‘man of many talents.’ Just one night prior, LeBron was spotted at Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monic with Bronny on July 28 (according to photos by TMZ) in what was his first public outing since being hospitalized and treated for sudden cardiac arrest.

For those who haven’t been following, Bronny James committed to play for the USC Trojans’ basketball team on May 6 and was in the middle of a workout with the team on July 24 when he suddenly collapsed and entered cardiac arrest. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and spent time in the ICU.
Bronny was eventually discharged from the hospital on Thursday (July 27), which was confirmed by LeBron James and Merije Chukumerije – the consulting cardiologist for Bronny. “He arrived at Cedars Sinai Medical Center fully conscious, neurologically intact and stable,” Chukumerije said in a statement.
Also on Thursday, TMZ released audio of the 911 call that resulted in paramedics being sent to the arena where Bronny was practicing. The caller – who remains unidentified – didn’t provide any information about what happened or who needed help, but was clear about the immediate need for an ambulance.
The recent health scare comes just seven months after Buffalo Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest in the middle of an NFL game that was being televised nationally. Since then, numerous athletes have faced similar health scares and Bronny, who turns 19 in two months, is the latest victim.
LeBron James Thanks Fans for Their Love and Support
After his son was discharged from the hospital on Thursday, LeBron James took to his Twitter account to express how grateful he was for his loyal fanbase and ‘thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers,’ while also confirming that everyone is doing well and Bronny continues to recover.
“We feel you and I’m so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we’re ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us! #JamesGang,” the 38-year-old NBA legend wrote in his statement.
Bronny James played high school basketball at Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles, California – his father has played for the Los Angeles Lakers for the past five years. Bronny made a name for himself as one of the top recruits in the nation and is listed as ESPN’s 20th-ranked prospect out of high school.
