Former Glee actress and current Broadway star Lea Michele has taken some time away from the Funny Girl stage last week after she found herself in a situation no mother wants to be in.
Lea Michele Has Made a Heartbreaking Announcement About Her 2-Year-Old Son
As Michele revealed early last week, she made the decision to step away from the Broadway stage in order to focus on her two-year-old son’s health. In August 2020, Michele and her husband Zandy Reich, welcomed their one and only child into the world, Ever Leo.
“We are at the hospital with our son dealing with a scary health issue that I need to be here for,” Lea initially shared with her fans while announcing she would not be on stage for a few nights. “I’m so sorry. Please send us some love and strength.”

Now, after spending several days in the hospital, Ever Leo is home and recovering. But as Michele announced, Ever Leo is “not out of the woods yet.”
On March 25, Michele returned to Broadway. She shared the news on her Instagram account, revealing that she’s “really happy to be back.”
“It’s been a really long week, and we’re still not out of the woods completely with our son. But he’s headed in a good direction, and we’re really, really grateful,” Lea explained to fans before revealing she also “has a cold just, I think, from not sleeping at all this past week.”
“But I’m really happy to be back with my Funny Girl family. And I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for just so much love and support this week. I really, really appreciated it.”
Alongside a photo of Ever in his hospital bed, “Thank You For All Your Well Wishes This Past Week. We Are Taking Our Boy Home From The Hospital Soon. Thank You To All The Amazing Doctors And Hospital Staff.”
Michele has not shared specific details about what illness her son is dealing with. Nonetheless, we wish nothing but a speedy recovery for Ever.
