Kristin Davis, best known for her role as Charlotte York Goldenblatt in Sex and the City (1998-2004), is opening up about the work she has had done on her face in recent years. She spoke about the ridicule she and her castmates receive in a new interview with The Telegraph, which was published on June 9.

“It’s hard to be confronted with your younger self at all times. And it’s a challenge to remember that you don’t have to look like that. The internet wants you to – but they also don’t want you to. They’re very conflicted,” she said – referring to those who mock others for showing or correcting signs of aging.

Davis turned 58 years old on February 23. She began her acting career in 1987 after graduating from Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts. In addition to her role in Sex and the City, she’s known for her roles in And Just Like That…, Couples Retreat (2009), and Deck the Halls (2006)

It wasn’t until she noticed signs of aging that she began using BOTOX – primarily to remove or reduce her lateral lines, which ran across her forehead. And while that’s all she did for ‘a long time,’ she eventually grew interested in fillers – which she admits to having both positive and negative experiences with.

“I’ve had to get them dissolved and I’ve been ridiculed relentlessly. And I have shed tears about it. It’s very stressful,” she says of the fillers. “It’s whatever. I can’t keep it up. I don’t have time. You’re trusting doctors [but] people personally blame us when it goes wrong – [as if] I jabbed a needle in my face…”

Kristin Davis recalled one instance where she had some work done on her lips. She admits it didn’t look good, but she didn’t realize it for a long time and it wasn’t until some of her good friends let her know that she became aware. Still, there were plenty of others who chose to laugh at and/or ridicule her for it.

“No one told me it didn’t look good for the longest time. But luckily I do have good friends who did say eventually,” she said, before arguing that most people would’ve been in the same situation as her. “The thing is you don’t smile at yourself in the mirror. Who smiles at themselves in the mirror? Crazy people.”

Kristin Davis Doesn’t Have Time for Exercise or Special Diets

BOTOX and fillers aren’t the only things Kristin Davis doesn’t have time for – she also chooses not to partake in exercise routines and special diets. Instead, like most mothers, she’ll ‘just eat what the kids are eating’ and admits it’s ‘exhausting’ having to make something different for herself after feeding the kids.

She’s also committed to her sober life, noting that she gave up drinking in her early 20s – she was introduced to alcohol early on in her life and described herself as an alcoholic at one point in her life. She has previously admitted to drinking as a means of expressing and freeing her normally-shy self.

“It was enough of a problem for me to go, “This is something that could get in the way of what I want to do in life,” she said of her drinking habits – adding that her first boyfriend after graduating school was sober, which helped her follow a similar path. Now at 58 years old, she hasn’t had a drink in several decades.
