When Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker started dating in January 2021, she knew she found the one she’s been waiting for. It didn’t take long for them to tie the knot, doing so in mid-May of this year in Santa Barbara, and then again in Portofino, Italy a week later. The two are inseparable, to say the least.
Just a few months into dating – around the summer of 2021 – Kardashian and Barker decided to try for a baby through in vitro fertilization, also known as IVF. During this process, eggs are fertilized by sperm in a lab before being transferred to the woman’s uterus. It can take anywhere from weeks to months.
For Kourtney Kardashian, she continued IVF treatment for roughly half a year before finally deciding to pause and eventually stop it in January-February 2022. And now that it has been about 10 months since she stopped treatment, she’s giving fans a brief and subtle, yet comforting update on her overall health.

“Finally started getting my energy back 10 months after stopping IVF, for anyone else going through it, it gets better!” the 43-year-old wrote in an Instagram story on Thursday. She snapped a photo of herself in front of a mirror while on the treadmill – she went 3.00 miles in just over 31 minutes of treadmill time.
It’s an encouraging post, considering the impact IVF treatment has on the body – especially for those that undergo treatment for 6+ months. Kourtney and Travis have both been vocal about the many problems her body faced, including the sudden weight gain and depleted energy levels from the hormonal changes.
In a Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast episode in early October, Kardashian spoke about her energy levels and the recovery period – which she’s still experiencing to this day. “When I went to get the results, the doctor thought it was mostly from IVF because it affects your adrenals, thyroid, and hormones,” she said.
“My energy levels since starting that have been really down and I haven’t done it since January or February and still my energy levels are still really down,” she continued. The good news is that she’s finally starting to gain her energy back and is finally starting to feel a little bit more like her normal self.
Kourtney Kardashian Isn’t Giving Up on Having Another Baby
Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker didn’t have a good experience with IVF treatment in 2021, but that isn’t derailing their plans of starting a family of their own in the future. The couple has touted the importance of timing with everything they do in life, so they believe what’s meant to occur will occur.
In the meantime, Kourtney and Travis are going to continue living their best life as their love shines bright everywhere they go. They’re the epitome of relationship goals and aren’t afraid to display their affection for one another at any moment they deem necessary. It’s wonderful to see both of them so happy.
Their love has been evidenced from the start but was magnified when Kourtney convinced Travis to travel in an airplane with her ahead of their marriage. At the time, Travis had refused to fly for the past 15 years after surviving a fatal plane crash that left all but two passengers dead – one of which being Travis.

Since then, the couple has traveled numerous times and has only gotten closer to one another in the process. For now, we’ll have to wait and see if they add to their blended family. Kourtney shares three children with Scott Disick, while Travis shares two children with Shanna Moakler.
