During last night’s episode of “Sister Wives,” Kody Brown’s now only wife Robyn Brown admitted that this wasn’t how she “envisioned” her life.
Over the last two years, the Brown family had begun to fracture. As a result, three of Kody’s ex wives, Janelle Brown, Meri Brown, and Christine Woolley have since left him.
And his relationship with the majority of his children is non-existent.
As the latest episodes of this show have revealed, Robyn has been heartbroken over the realization that her dreams of being in a plural marriage may be over.
“This isn’t what I envisioned my life to be,” she said in a confessional during the Oct. 13 episode. “I always wanted to live a plural marriage. I’m in this place where everything that’s going on is just, it’s taking away all those choices for me.”
“I’m struggling with my identity and what does it mean and I don’t see my future anymore and the hopes and dreams that I had were just disappearing before my eyes,” she added.
Now, the patriarch of the once polygamous family believes Robyn needs to stop “holding on to something” that is no longer there.
“I’ve always said, this woman has a spine of concrete and steel and she’s been holding on to the dream that I sold her on with my family for a lot longer,” Kody said in his own confessional.
“But I keep trying to go, ‘Let’s move on. Let’s let this go. Let’s just tell ourselves and believe it,’ because I believe it now.”
“It was never meant to be,” Kody admitted. “It was never meant to work.”
When Robyn initially joined the Brown family, she was Kody’s fourth and final wife. At the time, Kody was legally married to his first wife, Meri.
But because Robyn had children from a different relationship that Kody wanted to legally adopt, he legally divorced Meri to legally marry Robyn.
Robyn and Kody remain legally married.
Robyn had attempted to maintain a relationship with her former sister wives and their children. However, Kody says that he’s not the one who abandoned his wives or children.
Instead, he says, “They have betrayed me.”
