Kim Kardashian is opening up about some of the struggles and challenges that come with being a single mother of four children – all of whom are under the age of 10. The socialite recently sat down with Jay Shetty on his On Purpose with Jay Shetty podcast and got rather candid about what her life is like today.
“So, like, when you’re in it, I mean, especially when they’re babies and you’re feeding … there’s madness going on. It’s like full madness,” Kardashian explains – describing it as the best type of chaos. “Everyone says the days are long and the years are short, and that couldn’t be like a more true statement.”
More notably, she couldn’t help but point out how stressful her mornings are as she gets her household ready for the day ahead – something any parent can relate to. Between doing her daughter’s hair, getting her childrens’ shoes on, and making sure they’re all fed, it seems as if all her children need her at once.

“It’s like I always have to do one of my daughter’s hair — and it has to be perfect and it has to be a certain way — and then this one needs me to put his shoes on and they all need you. It’s like full crazy madness, cooking, running around. Like, it’s wild,” the 42-year-old single mother of four continued in the interview.
Kim Kardashian describes her household as ‘full crazy madness’ at times and describes motherhood as the ‘most challenging thing,’ but she also says it’s the thing that has taught her the most about herself – even going as far as calling it ‘the most rewarding job in the entire world.’ Still, it doesn’t come easy.
“There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, holy s**t, this f—ing tornado in my house. Like, what just happened?” she says – adding that nothing will ever prepare you for it. There is nothing that can prepare you. … I don’t care how long you wait. I don’t care what you’re waiting for. You are never prepared.”
As for things she can improve on as a mother, Kim Kardashian says she’s trying to be ‘a little bit firmer’ with her children – though she was open about how difficult that can be. “But, you will figure it out, and it will make you so proud of yourself that you figured it out and that you got through the day,” she says.
Kim Kardashian Ready for Season 3 Premiere of ‘The Kardashians’
For 15 years (20 seasons), Kim Kardashian and the rest of her family showcased their day-to-day lifestyle on Keeping Up with the Kardashians – one of the most-watched reality shows of all-time. While that show came to a screeching halt in 2021, the family has since released a new reality show, The Kardashians.
Season 1 consisted of 10 episodes, which premiered on April 14, 2022 and concluded two months later, while Season 2 consisted of 10 episodes, which premiered on September 22, 2022 and concluded two months later. It has been six months since the last episode aired, but that will come to an end soon.
Season 3 is set to premiere on May 25 and will feature another 10 episodes. In a season preview that was released earlier this week, Kim Kardashian confesses that her family hasn’t been in the same room in quite some time. The SKIMS founder also calls this her most emotional and frustrating season ever.
