When it comes to the romantic relationship between Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, the ups and downs were prominent. Despite the many instances of infidelity on Tristan’s behalf, Khloe Kardashian has still managed to successfully co-parent with Thompson.
But this next chapter in their lives is something no one saw coming. According to People, Khloe and Tristan are expecting their second child together.
Khloe Kardashian Makes a Shocking Announcement Following Most Recent Split With Tristan Thompson
According to a representative for Khloe, the former couple is allegedly using a surrogate to welcome their children child into the world. “We can confirm True will have a sibling who was conceived in November,” the rep told People.
“Khloé is incredibly grateful to the extraordinary surrogate for such a beautiful blessing. We’d like to ask for kindness and privacy so that Khloe can focus on her family.”
As People reports, Khloe has opened up about her struggles to conceive a sibling for True, the daughter she shared with Thompson. In March 2021, Khloe revealed that she was told if she should get pregnant with her second child, it would be considered a high-risk pregnancy.
“I’m not gonna get into specifics on-camera, but they said it’s like an 80-something percent chance that I will miscarry. I almost miscarried with True at the beginning. But I didn’t know that was like a lingering thing,” Khloe explained at the time.
“This is all really shocking to me. All I’m trying to do is bring more love into my life and into my family, and I just seem to be running into more and more roadblocks. It’s really hard for me to digest.”
Late last year, Khloe and Tristan ended their romantic relationship for good after reports revealed he fathered a child with another woman while they were dating.
It remains unclear if Khloe and Tristan decided to use a surrogate to grow their family before or after their most recent breakup. However, past interviews have revealed COVID was the reason she hadn’t expanded her family sooner.
“If you do need assistance in fertility, it’s much more challenging during COVID,” she told Sarah Hyland while a guest on her podcast, People reports.
“They say, ‘If you wanna make God laugh, tell him your plans.’ So the one time I’m actually really trying to plan, God is saying, ‘Uh uh, you can’t make your plans like this!’ My plan was to have kids closer in age.”
This baby will be the second for Khloe but the fourth for Tristan, 31. Alongside the baby he welcomed into the world in December 2021, he is also the father of a five-year-old boy named Prince.
Khloe’s older sister Kim has also used a surrogate to welcome her two youngest kids into the world.
