As with any of the Kardashians, there are always relationship rumors. When it comes to Khloe Kardashian and boyfriend Tristan Thompson reuniting, fans are hopeful. But in a recent interview, Khloe didn’t leave us very optimistic about it.
Khloe Kardashian appeared on a podcast and admitted that co-parenting her daughter, True, 1, with ex Tristan Thompson, is extremely “hard.” Even though the two might not be getting back together any time soon, at least they’re communicating. That’s easier said than done when you’re trying to raise a child with someone that hurt you.

As Khloe shared, relationships, particularly with an ex with whom you share a child, are hard work and it’s a daily struggle, one she’s willing to do because she recognizes how important the relationship is for True.
Khloe joined Jay Shetty’s ‘On Purpose’ podcast and said that raising her daughter with Tristan Thompson is “not easy.”
“It would be easier for me to keep my daughter away and be like, ‘No, because you hurt me.’ But he never hurt True,” Khloe said. “Him and I have our own relationship, and then Tristan and True have theirs. I will never come in-between that, I don’t believe in that.”
We get that. Tristan might be a terrible boyfriend, but he can also be great dad. Tristan can still be a good influence on his daughter, True.
Khloe said that her arrangement with Tristan can remain the same as long as it doesn’t “hurt” her.
“As long as it’s not hurting [me] in any way. If [co-parenting with Scott Disick] was hindering Kourtney’s growth or if [co-parenting] hinders my growth, then you also have to put yourself first because you are, in fact, taking care of your children,” she explained. “But if it’s not hindering you or hurting you in any way, I think it’s important to work on all relationships.”
Relationships take work and if anyone knows that, it’s Khloe. It’s great to hear that she’s willing to put the needs of her child first, but that she’s being realistic and staying in tune with her own.
Khloe said that she draws inspiration from her own parents when it comes to co-parenting children.
The idea of “family” has evolved and many of us realize that a nuclear, two-parent home is not a reality for many people. It’s great that Khloe has her own lived experience with separated parents and understands the special care that’s needed to raise kids in that sort of dynamic.
“My parents were incredible co-parenters from what I know,” she said. “My mom and my dad, I’m sure, fought all the time, [but] not around us.”
Khloe sounds like a mom to us.
Being a parent is hard enough. When a relationship falls apart, it can become even harder. We’re proud of Khloe and her family for putting her daughter, True first.
Tristan is probably no one’s first choice to raise a child with, but we’re confident Khloe can figure it out. She sounded so strong and maternal in the podcast. We’re proud of you, Mama!
