Actress Katie Holmes Share Rare Black-and-White Picture of Teen Daughter Suri, and They Look So Much Alike

Actress Katie Holmes, best known for her roles in Dawson’s Creek, The Kennedys, and more, became a mom for the first time nearly 13 years ago.

On April 18, 2006, Holmes and her now ex-husband, actor Tom Cruise, welcomed a baby girl into the world. The then-couple named their daughter, Suri.

Holmes and Cruise would eventually divorce six years later in 2012. Now, Holmes is a single mother, who cares for Suri full time. It was rumored in 2017 that Suri didn’t have much contact with her famous father.

A report claimed that the actor contacted a reported friend of his and asked her to stop posting photos on social media because he no longer wished to see pictures of his daughter.

It’s unclear if Suri has reunited with her father over the last two years. However, while being raised by her famous mother, Holmes has done her best to keep Suri’s childhood as private as possible.

Nonetheless, in the spirit of the new year, the proud mom shared a snapshot of her and Suri to her Instagram story. And people can get over how much the mother-daughter duo lookalike!

The black and white photo shows Holmes grinning sweetly with a 13-year-old Suri, who was wearing a big smile on her face, while they both looked at the camera.

And it’s pretty clear who Suri gets her looks from, wouldn’t you agree? Holmes once said in an interview with Elle about raising her daughter, “It’s been nice that our ages fit… how do I put this? Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match. We kind of grew up together.”

The last time Holmes shared a snap of Suri on social media was roughly a month before her 13th birthday in March. The photo was taken while the mother-daughter pair visited the Moria Refugee Camp in Greece.

The photo shows Suri interacting with one of the children there. Holmes also shared a photo of her little girl with a birthday crown on her head on her 12th birthday in 2018.

While it’s pretty obvious sharing photos of Suri won’t become a habit of Holmes’, it’s nice to see this loving pair so happy. Holmes told Elle, “I feel very blessed to have such a special daughter. Being her mom is absolutely the greatest gift and privilege.”
