You may recall earlier this year when the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard broke the internet for nearly six weeks straight. And while there were many moments in the trial that captivated the world, perhaps one of the biggest surprises was Kate Moss agreeing to testify on behalf of her ex, Johnny Depp.

As Mamas Uncut previously reported, during the defamation case Johnny Depp brought against his ex-wife Amber Heard, there was a poignant moment a lot of people took notice of, a moment that caused one of Depp’s lawyers to fist pump during Heard’s testimony.

As it has been reported, after Heard mentioned Kate Moss while she was describing a moment between her, her sister Whitney, and Depp, it gave Depp’s team the ability to call Moss to the stand to clear things up. And as it turns out, the story Heard was told was anything but true.

In her testimony, Kate Moss admitted that “Johnny did not push me down the stairs.” In fact, it was the exact opposite, the supermodel revealed.

According to her testimony, the incident in question took place while they were on vacation in Jamaica. “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs.”

Moss continued by further explaining the entire situation. “We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did. There had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slid down the stairs. I hurt my back. And I screamed because I didn’t know what had happened and I was in pain.”

That’s when Johnny came to her rescue. “He carried me to my room and got me medical attention.”

Now we are learning why Kate Moss decided to include herself in the polarizing trial. While talking with BBC Radio 4, Moss explained that she “knows the truth about Johnny. I know he never kicked me down the stairs. I had to say that truth.”

“I believe in the truth and I believe in fairness and justice,” Moss added.

Amber Heard has since filed an appeal with the Virginia court of appeals, after being found liable for defamation. Shortly after, Depp filed his own notice of appeal one day later.

While the jury awarded Depp a total of $15 million in punitive damages, the jury also awarded Heard $2 million in damages, taking issue with Depp’s lawyer’s 2020 claim at the time, in which he claimed that Heard and her friends conspired against Depp.

Depp appealed this verdict.
