Actress Kate Hudson is a mom-of-three. And even though she’s one of the most recognizable people in Hollywood, that doesn’t mean she doesn’t make mistakes like the rest of us.
As a mom, Hudson admits in an interview with Women’s Health that she’s far from perfect when it comes to raising her children, 15-year-old Ryder, 8-year-old Bingham, and 1-year-old Rani Rose.

She told Women’s Health, “I make mistakes all the time. I’ve yelled at my kids too much, and I’ve also cursed in front of them, and I also haven’t shown up for things because I was out of town.”
However, while there has been a fair share of mistakes made, Hudson also said she is constantly learning from those mistakes to become an even better mom.
“But at the same time, I have days where I’m like, ‘I’m a f—— supermom.’ I am cooking, cleaning, doing homework, changing diapers, I worked out. What I’ve learned — and what I’m learning — is that I’m doing the best I can.”
And one of the things she’s learned since becoming a mom is that she has to be wary of taking on too much.
In fact, while she is currently running multiple businesses, she’d rather not be known as a workaholic but rather a working mother who wants to do what she needs to do to make money and then get home to her kids.

“If I come in nine-to-five, do all my work, and shut off my phone, I can have a balanced life. I try not to let work spill into time with the kids, dinnertime, and in bed.”
However, finding that balance hasn’t always been the easiest thing for her.
Like all working moms, it takes time and patience to nail down a routine that works for them. But when time is of the essences, that makes things hard.
One of the things Hudson needed to do for herself in order to find that balance was to take a step back from her successful acting career.
Hudson told Women’s Health that she got to a point in her career where she wasn’t making art she was proud of, and that was a turning point for her.
She said making that decision allowed her to “look at what I really want to do and what I want to give back, and what kind of parent I want to be.”

She also thanks her boyfriend of three years and the father of her 1-year-old daughter, Danny Fujikawa, for helping her remain balanced, but also giving her the freedom to take a dinner meeting if she needs to without feeling guilty.
Hudson met Danny in 2016 when things in her life were going just how she had planned them and her head was clear. And she credits that, among other things, to their successful relationship.
She told Women’s Health, “His number one priority is family. And when we have our disputes, I feel the thing that allows us to get through them is having the same ultimate goal, and that includes being in each other’s life. It just feels so nice.”
And based on her social media, Danny seems like the ultimate bonus parent to her two boys.
The actress also opened up about how proud she is of herself and the fathers of her two oldest children for being successful co-parents. Her advice for other families who are no longer together, “You’ve got to drop the ego.”

And as far as getting away for a little “me-time,” Hudson says she does it as much as she can, which often means retreating to her cabin in Colorado, but she’s rarely ever alone.
“I do check out. I go away with [them], usually to our ranch in Colorado. I sit and look out at the mountains. My doctor says I should be going away on my own, but I’ll do that when my kids are a little bit older.”
