Kate Gosselin’s lawyer said she didn’t ‘intentionally harm’ Collin following his disturbing interview

On Monday (Sept. 9), Collin Gosselin revealed several more chilling details about his childhood – again taking aim at his mother, Kate Gosselin, for singling him out.

The latest allegations were detailed in a story published by The Sun on Monday (Sept. 9).

On Wednesday (Sept. 11), Kate’s lawyer, Richard Puelo, said she won’t be responding to the allegations made about her. He did, however, offer a statement of his own, according to Fox News Digital

“She never wants to comment because she always knows that this gets taken out of context,” Puelo said – adding that she “doesn’t need to” comment, the “record speaks for itself” and the “facts belie the truth.”

“And I don’t believe she intentionally harmed any of her children in any way, shape or form,” he continued – admitting that she “did what she did to protect herself and her family” from Collin’s “troubled behavior.”

Kate Gosselin allegedly locked Collin in basement as a kid

Collin Gosselin has been open about his mother’s mistreatment towards him – as well as the many other problems he experienced as a child – for several years, but chilling details are finally starting to emerge.

In his recent interview with The Sun, Collin said there were times his mother would “have his hands and feet zip-tied and be locked in a specially-built basement room that contained only a bed and cameras.”

He says it would sometimes happen all day, and sometimes happen multiple times throughout the day.

“My mother would put me in that room multiple times, she had zip-tied my hands and feet together and bolt locked the door, turned the lights off and had cameras there just watching me,” he told The Sun.

He also claims that his mother admitted him into a mental health facility following diagnoses of several behavioral and psychiatric conditions – even though he doesn’t have and says he never had those conditions.

Puelo doesn’t think Kate’s to blame for Collin being discharged

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight in August, Collin claimed that he had been discharged from the Marines because he was ‘previously institutionalized’ – essentially blaming his mother for being let go.

But Kate’s lawyer doesn’t think the blame should be placed on her.

“When you’ve got seven other children that you’re worried about their security and yourself, you do certain things,” Kate’s lawyer, Richard Puelo, said in an interview with Fox News Digital. “[He’s trying to] blame [Kate] for him being expelled from the military. That’s a stretch and a blame that [isn’t] deserved.”

He went on to say that ‘if she was harassing or abusing her child,’ then the authorities would’ve taken the time and removed him from the family, put Collin in special services, and had Kate charged with abuse.

Because that didn’t happened, Puelo believes it’s enough to debunk Collin’s allegations.

Collin finally feels comfortable sharing his story

Despite the backlash from Kate’s lawyer, Collin Gosselin isn’t holding back anymore and is finally ready to share his story in detail – something he never really felt that comfortable doing over the past few years, he explained in the caption in an Instagram post on Tuesday (Sept. 10).

“It has taken me a long time to find the strength needed to speak about my mother’s abuse. I have finally found my voice, and I hope to be the voice for children everywhere facing abuse,” he wrote in the Story.

He also said he wants ‘to bring attention to the system that failed me as a child’ in hopes that it’ll help others going through similar situations. “It is never OK. Your story can be told, just like mine,” he added.

He then sent a special shoutout to his father, Jon Gosselin.
