As Mamas Uncut previously reported, the Kardashians went big this year for Christmas, especially when it came to buying gifts for their children. Not only did Kim Kardashian get her daughter, North West, an actual jacket worn by singer Micheal Jackson, but also a hat he wore too.
According to People, the jacket North received for Christmas was bought in an auction. The jacket was reportedly worn by Jackson while he was attending the late Liz Taylor‘s 65th birthday party. The hat, Kim said, was the hat he wore during the Smooth Criminal music video.

However, while showing off what North got for Christmas, a rumor got started that Kim also purchased the shirt John F. Kennedy was wearing when he was assassinated. That rumor ended up being reported as fact by Refinery29, who was then called out on Twitter.
After seeing Refinery29’s report, Twitter user, Nina Mohan, shared a screenshot of the fake tweet and the report, while writing, “I AM SCREAMING someone tweeted as a joke that Kim Kardashian gifted North JFK’s bloody shirt and Refinery29 wrote about it as if it were true????”
Kim herself also responded to what she is calling “a sick joke.” She wrote, “WOW this is obviously fake! Refinery29 I did not get JFK’s shirt. That is a sick joke that someone tweeted as a fake IG story that I never posted.”
Refinery29 ultimately updated and corrected their article, owning up to the mistake and acknowledging the photo they shared was, in fact, fake.

As People reports, Kim bought the jacket and hat for North because the 7-year-old is a huge fan of Micheal Jackson. The mom of four said her oldest was “so grateful and excited” over the gift.
They even had it tailored to fit North now and grow with it her as time goes on.
