The Kardashian–Jenner clan keeps growing, and fans are treated to the colorful baby names they choose for their children with each new addition. The latest baby, born in August to Khloe Kardashian, does not have a name that’s been made public (we are eagerly awaiting her choice). Previously, Kylie Jenner gave birth to a son in February who she named Wolf Webster, but that name did not stick. She recently announced that she had changed her son’s name to Aire, a fitting match to his older sister Stormi.
It feels like this family is intent on building their own dynasty with children they find the most unique appellations for. If you can’t keep all of these new editions’ names straight, you have come to the right place. We are breaking down each Kardashian-Jenner baby name from the most recent to the first of this new generation.
Baby Boy’s Mystery Name
The Parents: Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Birth Date: August 2022
On Contemporary Virtue Names
Khloe welcomed her youngest child, a baby boy, via surrogate in August. The baby was conceived before Thompson’s most recent cheating scandal. Classic virtue names like Constance, Prudence, and Faith were popularized by the Puritans. Today, a new crop of virtue names has become trendy. The Kardashian-Jenner parents are especially fond of them.
Since Khloe’s eldest is named True (we will discuss this more extensively), perhaps we can expect a similar option for her youngest. We predict a name like Justice, Courage, Creed, or Honor.
Aire Webster
The Parents: Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott
Birth Date: February 2, 2022
What’s in the Name Aire?
Aire is a unique spelling of the word air, but it curiously sounds precisely the same as heir. Aire might also be considered a variant spelling of Ari, a name of Hebrew origin, meaning “lion of God.” In the most recent baby name data from the Social Security Administration, the name has gone virtually unused in the US. It’s a unique choice, far more so than Wolf.
Wolf Webster
The Parents: Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott
Birth Date: February 2, 2022
Same Baby, Different Name
Before Kylie landed on the Aire, she chose the name, Wolf. The name is of German origin as an animal name or a shortened form of Wolfgang, meaning “traveling wolf.” The name is rare in the US (not as rare as Aire, however), but it’s become popular in the UK today. Perhaps Kylie felt this name was becoming too commonplace.
Psalm West
The Parents: Kim Kardashian and Kanye (Ye) West
Birth Date: May 9, 2019
What’s in the Name Psalm?
Kim’s fourth child, Psalm, was given one of the new virtue names we mentioned earlier. The Bible contains the Book of Psalms, of course. Psalms are sacred hymns or songs. This name landed on a birth certificate in the US for the very first time after this little sweetie was born. Give it a few years, and this name will likely become trendy.
True Thompson
The Parents: Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson
Birth Date: April 12, 2018
What’s in the Name True?
Khloe welcomed her first child in 2018, a daughter named True. While this name might sound new, it actually has a history in her family. Khloe’s great-grandfather was named True Otis Houghton, and her grandfather was Robert True Houghton. The name was mildly popular for baby boys born in the US in the late 19th and early 20th century. Its most popular year was 1895, when it was the 972nd most given name.
Stormi Webster
The Parents: Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott
Birth Date: February 1, 2018
What’s in the Name Stormi?
The more traditional spelling, Stormy, was a mildly popular choice for baby girls born throughout the 1990s. Its best year was 1992, when it ranked 800th. Kylie’s unique spelling, Stormi, captured imaginations following her daughter’s birth in 2018. Just two years later, the name ranked in the top 1000 most popular names for girls. That’s impressive!
Chicago West
The Parents: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Birth Date: January 15, 2018
What’s in the Name Chicago?
Chicago was clearly chosen to celebrate Kanye’s connection to the city where he was raised by his mother Donda. Chicago, the city, got its name from an Algonquin term that translates to “wild garlic,” “onion,” or “striped skunk.” The city was a swamp before it was settled by colonizers. Despite the meaning, Chicago could be the next Brooklyn. Only time will tell.
Dream Renée Kardashian
The Parents: Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna
Birth Date: November 10, 2016
What’s in the Name Dream Renée
Dream has become a popular celebrity baby name in recent years. In addition to Rob and Blac Chyna, Allen Iverson, Ginuwine, and The Game all chose it for their daughters. That gave this appellation a huge boost, and the year following the birth of Dream Renée, the name landed in the US top 1000 for the first time. Today, it’s firmly a top-500 pick. Renée is a more established name of French origin, meaning “reborn.”
Saint West
The Parents: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Birth Date: December 15, 2015
What’s in the Name Saint?
Kim really struggled to get pregnant with her first two children, and it was a difficult pregnancy with her second child that spawned the name Saint. Kim and Kanye would call the unborn boy a Saint because it was a miracle to get him to term. Following Saint’s birth, the name rocketed up the popularity charts from virtual obscurity to a top-500 name.
Reign Aston Disick
The Parents: Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Birth Date: December 14, 2014
What’s in the Name Reign Aston?
Kourtney had wanted to use the name Rain for a child, but it just never truly fit her two other kids. The third time around, she intended to use the name for a baby girl, but it turned out her third child was a boy, so she went with Reign instead. Reign is a word name, another one of the inventive word names that the Kardashians love. Reign, of course, refers to a royal’s rule. Three years after Reign’s birth, the name landed in the US top 1000 most popular names for boys. It’s tracking to be a top-500 name in the next year or two.
Aston is an English habitational name for someone from the “eastern settlement.” It’s still a rare one in the US.
North West
The Parents: Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Birth Date: June 15, 2013
What’s in the Name North?
North was the name chosen by Kim and Kanye for their first child together. Unlike other names on this list, this name has yet to take off in the US. We think it’s a solid option that more new parents should consider.
Penelope Scotland Disick
The Parents: Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Birth Date: July 8, 2012
What’s in the Name Penelope Scotland?
Kourtney was the first of her sisters to have kids, and the names she chose for her two eldest are rather traditional compared to many others on this list. For their second child, Penelope was chosen as the given name; at the time, it was already a popular option in the US. Today, it’s more popular than ever before! Penelope is of Greek origin and means “weaver.”
Scotland is rare as a given name in the US, but it was given to Penelope in honor of her dad, Scott.

Mason Dash Disick
The Parents: Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick
Birth Date: December 14, 2009
What’s in the Name Mason Dash?
Mason was a popular name in the US when Kourtney’s firstborn arrived. The name is of English origin and means “stoneworker.” Kourtney was told by an aunt that the Kardashian surname has the same meaning in Armenian, so this one is uniquely suited to little Mason Dash. Dash is also a nod to the name Kardashian and was her father’s nickname.

Bingham
Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy chose the strange name Bingham for their son who goes by Bing for short. The only reference we know for the name is the late crooner Bing Crosby. Bingham is a British surname-name that means “homestead hollow.” As in, a property near a hollow. This name has never been widely popular in the US, but that could surely change!
Destry
Steven Spielberg chose the name Destry for his daughter born in 1996. It’s a gender-neutral name that’s of French origins and means “warhorse.” Destry was once popular in the 1960s for baby boys thanks to a TV western series that aired at the time. Since then, the name has not appeared on the top 1000 baby names list. It’s one of the celebrity baby names that’s poised for a comeback!
Tennessee
Moms are following Reese Witherspoon‘s lead after she named her son Tennessee James after the iconic playwright Tennessee Williams. Tennessee, the state, gets its name from a Cherokee town that means “meeting place.” An evocative choice for sure, we find Tennessee energetic and enduring.
Sonnet
Forest Whitaker is a fearless baby-namer! He has a son named Ocean and a daughter named Sonnet. We think he’s got a talent for discovering amazing words to turn into names. Sonnet comes from Italian roots that mean “little song.” We think this name is perfect for poetry-loving parents who want to turn to prose for inspiration.
Ocean
Ocean King PenaVega is the son of actors Carlos and Alexa PenaVega. Ocean is a delightful natural, water name that could bring a little brightness to your child’s moniker. Ocean has yet to become as widespread as similar names Brooke and River, but we think it will be very trendy soon enough. This marks the second time we’ve brought up the name Ocean on this list which makes it one of the truly trendy celebrity baby names today.
Memphis
Memphis has Greek and Coptic origins that mean “enduring” and “beautiful.” Memphis is a much more common appellation for boys than girls, but it was given to at least one notable celebrity child. Bono and Ali Hewson chose the name Memphis Eve Sunny Day Hewson after her birth in 1991. Memphis makes the top 1000 most popular names for boys but not girls today.
Shiloh
As promised, Brad and Angelina’s baby’s name, Shiloh, makes the list. This attractive Hebrew name means “tranquil.” The name was virtually unheard of in the US until the celebrity couple helped garner attention for it. Today, Shiloh is a top 500 name which makes it one of the most popular celebrity baby names for everyday parents.
Suri
Suri, a once unknown, exotic appellation, made headlines after it was chosen by Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise for their daughter in 2007. Popular in a number of naming traditions, Suri means “the sun” in Sanskrit, “rose” in Persian. Most notably, it’s a form of the Hebrew name Sara which means “princess.”
Esmeralda
Esmeralda has been climbing the top 1000 list since the 1950s and it enjoyed its most popular year ever in the US last year. Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling named their first daughter Esmeralda. The name is popular with Hispanic parents and non-Spanish speakers alike. The name has Spanish and Portuguese origins meaning “emerald.”
Exton
Robert Downey, Jr., and Susan Downey chose the name Exton for their baby boy. Exton has English and Celtic origins and means “town on the River Exe” or simply “near the water.” Exton is a highly unusual pick and not one of the most celebrity baby names on this list. We hope that changes because Exton is a very handsome option.
Blaze
We turn to Kate Winslet for the first time, but not the last, as she chose Blaze as a middle name for her son. Actor Jennifer Gareis and Bobby Ghassemieh chose it as the first name for their son born in 2010. Blaze is given about twenty times more often to baby boys than girls, but it is still a unisex option. Blaze means “fire” and we expect to light a fire to the top 1000 baby names in the US in coming years!
Titan
Titan has emerged as a top 1000 baby name over the last several years. Singer Kelly Rowland & Tim Weatherspoon named one of their sons Titan Jewell after his birth in 2014. Titan has roots in Greek mythology as immortal giants called Titans. Titan means “defender.” It’s one of the celebrity baby names that was already trending but will likely continue to grow in popularity thanks to Rowland.
Sparrow
Nicole Richie and another Joel Madden named their son Sparrow James Midnight. However, they are not the only celebs to choose it. Singer Tony Lucca named his daughter Sparrow Jane. We love a good bird baby name so this one is most welcome on the list. This name is not remotely popular in the US today, which means it’s still one of the celebrity baby names that’s obscure.
Cricket
We look to Busy Philipps for the first time on this list for inspiration as she has named her daughter Cricket Pearl. Cricket is a distinct nature baby name that parents have not fully adopted yet, but that could certainly change in the coming years. We think this appellation would be a winner for a little boy or a little girl.
Rogue
Son of director Robert Rodriguez, Rogue Rodriquez, has one of the most unique celebrity baby names. Rogue, a character from X-Men, proves a great name that means “rascal.” Rogue will not be for everyone, as evident in the US top 1000 baby names in which this name has never ranked.
Bear
Bear debuted in the US top 1000 for the first time last year. However, it only barely made it onto the list. That means there is still plenty of room for Bear to grow. Bear typically goes to little boys as it did for Alicia Silverstone‘s son Bear Blu Jarecki and Kate Winslet‘s Bear Blaze Winslet.
Birdie
Say “Hello” to Busy again! Busy Philipps named her other baby Birdie (after First Lady Lady Bird Johnson), as did soap star Maura West. Birdie was last popular as a given name in the US in 1948. This name has typically gone to baby girls but we think it works as a unisex baby name owing to its natural meaning. We would love for this adorable name to make comeback.
Blue
Blue is a popular unisex baby name among many celebrity parents. Blue Ivy is of course the name of Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s talented daughter. Blue is a color name that is often used as a middle name as well. Adele‘s middle name is Blue. Elijah Blue Allman is the son of Cher. Needless to say, this name is wildly popular among celebs but has not completely caught on with the rest of the population.
Rumer
Demi Moore and Bruce Willis caused a splash when they named their now-grown firstborn after novelist Rumer Godden. Rumer Glenn Willis might have received the attractive name in 1988 but few others can say the same. This is still one of the very rare celebrity baby names. Rumer comes from an English surname that means “fame.”
Aleph
Natalie Portman and Benjamin Millepied named their son Aleph. The ancient name refers to the origins of the universe in the Kabbalah. It also refers to the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. Aleph has Hebrew origins and means “chief” or “number one.” It’s one of the rare celebrity baby names in the US.
Sunday
Sunday is one of those celebrity baby names that sounds attractively vintage yet completely approachable. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban thought so as they named their daughter Sunday Rose Kidman Urban for their baby girl born in 2008. Mike Myers followed suit 6 years later giving the name to one of his daughters.
Pilot
Son of actor Jason Lee received the name Pilot Inspektor Riesgraf Lee after his birth in 2003. Pilot is an occupational name for an individual who takes the steering wheel. Pilot works well as a baby name for boys and girls and would be an offbeat option for adventurous parents. Pilot is definitely one of the most colorful celebrity baby names on this list.
Lyra
Lyra is a musical baby name that comes from Greek and means “lyre.” It was a very appropriate choice for Ed Sheeran and Cherry Seaborn (as well as Sophie Dahl and Jamie Cullum). Lyra has long been a popular baby name for girls in England, and it finally debuted in the top 1000 here in the US in 2015. Sheeran chose the middle name Antarctica, but you most certainly do not.
Raddix
Cameron Diaz and Benji Madden turned heads after they named their daughter Raddix Chloe Wildflower Madden after her birth in 2020. This most novel of celebrity baby names comes from Latin origins and means “root.” Raddix seems “rad” for both boys and girls to us!
Rhodes
Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund announced the birth of their son early this year. They chose the name Rhodes Robert and we think Rhodes was a wise choice. Rhodes is a posh baby name with Greek origins that means “where roses grow.” It has never appeared in the US top 1000 most popular baby names, making it a distinct option!

Actors Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen share a daughter named Briar Rose. It’s a bit of a thorny pick but we think it stands out amid these other unique celebrity baby names.
Dusty
Singer Adam Levine and model Behati Prinsloo have two kids together: Gio Grace and Dusty Rose. While we’re not crazy about the name Gio Grace, their other kid’s name, Dusty Rose sounds like she was named after a romantic shade of pink.
Kulture
Rappers Cardi B and Offset named their baby born in 2018, Kulture Kiari. Offset’s legal name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus. We absolutely love the name Kiari and imagine Kulture will be showing up on more and more birth certificates in the coming years.
Moxie
Magician Penn Jillette and wife Emily Zolten named their daughter Moxie CrimeFighter. Her name will make you think she’s a character from a comic book, but she is indeed a real, 14-year-old individual. Of the strange celebrity baby names on this list, Moxie took the most guts to land on. Moxie means “force of character.”
Rocket
Actor Sam Worthington and model Lara Worthington are proud parents of a 4-year-old they named Rocket Zot. We searched for the definition of the word, “zot” and found no acceptable meanings. The couple is from Australia so perhaps it’s an Aussie thing? That child has one of the most unique celebrity baby names! Rocket!
Satchel
Iconic filmmaker Spike Lee and his wife Tonya Lewis Lee have a daughter named Satchel. There has got to be a story behind this unique name. Could it be inspired by Leroy Robert “Satchel” Paige who was an American professional baseball pitcher who played in Negro league baseball and Major League Baseball? We imagine many of these celebrity baby names would make perfect sense if the parents explained them.
Zuma
Before Gwen Stefani met current partner Blake Shelton, she was in a relationship with rocker Gavin Rossdale. Gwen and Gavin named one of their children Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale. Zuma was born in 2008. Zuma is a name of Arabic origin and means “peace.”
Harley
Director Kevin Smith and actor Jennifer Schwalbach Smith named their daughter after a comic book character. Kevin and Jennifer are parents to 20-year-old Harley Quinn Smith who’s an actor and musician. A name like Harley Quinn is made for showbusiness which makes it one of the quintessential celebrity baby names. Harley is an English name that means “hare meadow.”
Bronx
Shortly after musicians Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz married, they gave birth to a son and named him Bronx Mowgli Wentz. Ashlee and Pete are no longer together, but the name lives on. Bronx Mowgli sounds like the name of a movie! If you like the name Brooklyn, consider its cousin, Bronx.
Fifi
Irish musician Bob Geldof and his wife Paula Yates gave birth to Fifi Trixibelle Geldof in 1983. Trixiebell is one of the strangest of the celebrity baby names! Fifi is considered a diminutive form of Josephine in Spanish and French, meaning “Jehovah increases.”
Ode
Actor Jena Malone from The Hunger Games and her ex Ethan DeLorenzo named their son Ode Mountain DeLorenzo Malone. Jena has never offered an explanation of the strange name, but she doesn’t really need to. An Ode is a “lyric poem” in English.
Rosalind
Actor Uma Thurman gave birth to Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence in 2012. The name is… somewhat of a mouthful. Apparently, Uma and her boyfriend, Arpad Busson couldn’t agree on a name for their daughter, so they gave her five. “We couldn’t quite agree on the name, so we call her Luna,” Uma told Jimmy Fallon shortly after giving birth. Rosalind originated in German and means “beautiful rose.”
Poppy
Celebrity chef Jamie Oliver and his wife Juliette Norton have five children. All of their kids were given absolutely over-the-top celebrity baby names. The kids range in ages from 3 to 17-years-old. Poppy Honey Rosie, Daisy Boo Pamela, Petal Blossom Rainbow, Buddy Bear Maurice, and River Rocket Blue Dallas are the children’s names. We like Poppy, which has Latin origins and means “red flower.”
Gravity
Models Stormi Bree and Lucky Blue Smith have pretty interesting names, to begin with. Stormi Bree sounds like a cheese hurricane! It should come as no surprise that the couple opted for one of the wildest celebrity baby names with Gravity Blue Smith. The word gravity comes from Latin and means “heavy.”
Beatrice (Danger)
The Good Wife actor Jess Weixler and husband Hamish Brocklebank welcomed their baby, Beatrice Danger Brocklebank, in 2019. Their daughter’s middle name is literally Danger. Danger is one of the coolest celebrity baby names, we must admit. Beatrice is an antique treasure of a name that means “bringer of happiness.”
Kyd
Strange man and X Files star David Duchovny and ex-wife, fictional president, Téa Leoni, have a 17-year-old son together named Kyd Miller Duchovny. Kyd sounds just like “kid.” The name, Kyd comes from old English and means “baby goat.” We suppose Kyd is one of the most whimsical celebrity baby names.
Winter
Musicians Alani Morissette and partner Mario Souleye Treadway named their baby for a season. The couple named their son, with strange celebrity baby names, of course! Winter Mercy Morissette-Treadway is their son’s name. “Winter’s Mercy” sounds like the name of a novel.
Banks
You can take this one to the banks! Actor Hilary Duff and musician Matthew Koma have a 1-year-old daughter that they named Banks Violet Bair. Banks not only name financial institutions! Banks is an established English topographical surname that means “from the river’s edge.” Banks could be one of the celebrity baby names that really takes off in the coming years.
Everest
Star Wars creator George Lucas and wife Mellody Hobson welcomed their son in 2013. The now 6-year-old is named Everest Hobson Lucas. Everest? Did they name their son after the world’s highest mountain? If not the mountain, perhaps it was the surveyor, Sir George Everest. The surname comes from English origin and means “dweller on the Eure River.”
Heiress
Rapper T.I. and wife Tameka Cottle have a 3-year-old daughter named Heiress Diana Harris. When a teacher goes to call the roll they will say, “Heiress Harris.” We truly hope this young girl grows up to be more than an heir and that she takes over the whole world. May her celebrity baby names set her up for grandeur! Heiress means “beneficiary of the family estate.”
Huckleberry
Adventurous TV personality Bear Grylls and his wife Shara Grylls have three children together. Two of the three kids have unfortunate names. Marmaduke Mickey Percy Grylls & Huckleberry Edward Jocelyne Grylls are names we do not encounter every day. Bear likes to call Huckleberry, “Huckles” for short. Huckles! Huckleberry means “sweet berry.”
Apollo
We touch base with Gwen Stefani once more! She and ex Gavin Rossdale share Apollo Bowie Flynn who was born in 2014. Apollo was a sun god in Greek mythology. David Bowie’s “Starman” also concerned itself with celestial beings. Stefani and Rossdale were definitely not afraid to “let all the children boogie” when they chose these celebrity baby names for their son.
Banjo
Australian actor Rachel Griffiths named her son Banjo Patrick, which was a choice. While banjo, the name of an instrument closely associated with American folk music, might not spring to mind as a name for an Aussie child but, Banjo is a common aboriginal name Down Under. We think Banjo is pulling it off!
