Every parent knows that traveling with a baby or a toddler can be a difficult experience, especially when strangers are involved.
Thanks to judgment and ridicule from the past, parents often share their fears when they are forced to fly with their baby- or toddler-aged children.
The same goes for Hollywood superstars.
While a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Kaley Cuoco revealed that she and her partner Tom Pelphrey flew with their 9-month-old daughter Matilda for the first time over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Cuoco admitted she and Tom were nervous and worried that their little one may be antsy and frustrated during the trip and they opted to bring her sound machine to help keep her calm. After all, as Kaley admitted, the only way Matilda sleeps is when her sound machine is on.
Once Matilda started getting fussy on the flight, the couple turned on the machine, laid Matilda on Tom’s chest, and she fell asleep. But that wasn’t good enough for a fellow passenger, Kaley admitted to Kimmel.
As Kaley continued, they were approached by a flight attendant who told them another passenger made a request. “He’s like, ‘Hey, one of our passengers would love it if you could turn the sound machine off.’”
“And I’m sitting there, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God.’ And I can feel Tom be like, ‘Hey, ask the passenger if she wants to hold our screaming child when we turn it off.’ I mean, the ice went into his veins. I couldn’t believe, by the way, that she asked us to turn it off! We were so angry.”
But the rudeness didn’t stop there. As Kaley, Tom, and Matilda were preparing to deboard the plane, the woman in front of them made a comment that would make any mom’s jaw drop.
“Oh, so your daughter does know how to smile,” Kaley revealed the woman said to them. And it was in that moment Kaley said “where I understood why women end up on ‘Dateline.’ I could have strangled [her]. … I could’ve thrown that woman off the plane.”
Now, Kaley said she’s had enough of the judgment. “You see all these things on social media where people are really, truly, getting mad at these babies. Like, justice for babies! This is ridiculous … leave them alone.” In response, the audience erupted into applause.
You can say that again! WOW!
