Teen Mom 2 star Kailyn Lowry is opening up about the custody drama that occurred after she took her son to Hawaii over the Fourth of July holiday when it was supposed to be his father’s day to have him.
Lowry is a mom of three children, 9-year-old Isaac Elliot Rivera, 2-year-old Lux Russell Lowry, and 5-year-old Lincoln Marshall Marroquin. All three of her sons have different fathers and as the latest episode of Teen Mom 2 revealed, co-parenting with Isaac’s father, Jo Rivera, has proved to be a difficult road as of late.

To celebrate Independence Day, Lowry took her boys to Hawaii on vacation. However, as the nearly three-minute clip reveals, Lowry never had the vacation approved by Jo, or so he says, even though it fell on the week he was supposed to have Isaac, per their custody agreement.
The clip shows Lowry explaining what happened to a friend:
“So Jo, I got the text at 2:30 in the morning on the Fourth of July. ‘Happy Fourth of July, coming by at 9 to get Isaac. See you soon.”
The mom admitted to her friend that she was irritated by Jo’s text because it was all over her social media that she and Isaac and the others were in Hawaii together. So Lowry replied to Jo saying, “Sorry, we aren’t home. He’s safe and sound.”
However, Jo wasn’t happy with that response and the drama continued. He told Lowry, “‘He’s supposed to be with me today 9 to 5.’ I said, ‘Okay, well I decided it was in his best interest to be with me and his brothers today.’ He goes, ‘I asked to have my son today. You agreed to that when you signed the custody agreement. Back to the courtroom. See you there.’ And that’s where it ended.”
Lowry also swears that she told Jo they were going on vacation but Jo claims she didn’t.
And this isn’t the first time in 2019 that Jo and Lowry got heated over custody of their son. As Cafe Mom reports, in February, Jo filed for child support from Lowry, which didn’t sit well with the mom of three:
“Kail’s side of the story: Jo had never pushed for her to drop it, and she was waiting on him to file for it to be dropped. Jo’s side of the story: Kail had never gone to drop it, so now he was owed money.”

As it turns out, Jo was paying Lowry $500-a-month in child support but was struggle to support his growing family as a result, despite sharing custody of Isaac 50/50.
At the time, Lowry wasn’t sure if Jo would follow through with his threat to file for contempt of court. Nonetheless, as social media reveals, it seems like Jo and Lowry were able to put their disagreement behind them.
A photo recently surfaced of Lowry attending Jo’s daughter’s birthday party with her three boys. Also in the picture is Jo’s wife, Vee. Let’s hope the blended family can keep their co-parenting going in a positive direction.
