New details have emerged about the untimely death of Toddler’s & Tiara‘s star Kailia Posey.
The 16-year-old’s cause of death was asphyxia due to ligature hanging, and the manner was suicide the Whatcom County medical examiner in Washington announced Wednesday.

The medical examiner’s autopsy and toxicology reports will not be released to the public, Page Six reported.
The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office told the outlet that the specifics of the police record were being retained because disclosure would be “highly offensive” and “not of legitimate concern to the public, and therefore would violate the right to privacy.”
As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Kailia’s parents confirmed that their daughter committed suicide in a statement released on May 2.
“Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life,” the Posey family shared.
“She won countless crowns & trophies after competing on the pageant circuit her entire life … Her highly acclaimed talent as a contortionist had already led to professional touring job offers, and she had recently been selected to be a cheerleader at her high school next fall,” the family also shared.
On May 2, Marcy Posey, Kailia’s mom, revealed that Kailia had passed away. Along with a photo in what appears to be a prom dress, Marcy wrote, “I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone. Please give us privacy as we mourn the loss of Kailia. My baby forever.”
According to an Instagram account believed to be Kailia’s, the teen had just celebrated her 16th birthday in April. And her love of pageants hadn’t ceased.
One of the reality TV star’s friends explained that Posey had been “struggling” before her suicide, Page Six reported.

“We knew she was struggling with a few things, and we all did everything we could to encourage her and help,” her friend told the outlet. “We didn’t know what was going on.”
The source remembered Posey as a “role model” and a “big name in a lot of different places.”
