Joy-Anna Forsyth Shares Her Birth Plan on YouTube, Reveals She’s Breaking Duggar Tradition
As Romper reports, when Joy-Anna gave birth in 2018 to her son Gideon, she originally planned on giving birth at home. But after laboring for 20 hours at home, it was her midwife who suggested that Gideon was breech. The young mom was then was rushed to a local hospital to have an emergency C-section.
And because she’s never packed for a hospital birth before, Joy-Anna revealed to her fans that she is using a list she found a Pinterest as a guide to help her make sure she’s prepared. Some of the things she was packed were plenty of outfits in sizes ranging up to three-months for her baby girl and a wrap, as well as a matching headband for baby girl’s first photos. And of course diapers and wipes.
As for what she packed for herself, Joy-Anna threw in a belly band, some socks, nursing bras, a breast pump, and a comfy pajama set. The mama also talked about how she’s feeling heading to a hospital in the middle of a global pandemic.
“I’m torn because with all of this COVID stuff — which I totally understand why — but it’s just hard because my mom isn’t going to be able to be there, and my sisters aren’t going to be able to be at my birth. It’s just going to be Austin and I. But hopefully, we can get a room that has a window and they can come see her through the window. That would be really special if they could at least see her the day she was born because my parents have always been there for me and Austin’s parents. So we’ll see how that works out…”
Joy-Anna’s excitement was evident throughout the video. At one point she exclaimed, “I cannot believe I am having a baby. I’m so excited, packing this bag makes it so real.” It’s unclear when in August Joy-Anna is expected to give birth, but they certainly can’t wait until they meet their baby girl.
