Maskless Joy-Anna Duggar Poses for Photo While Holding Her Baby in a Strange Way, Raising ‘Concern’

Mom-shaming is really bad. That being said, Joy-Anna Duggar Forsyth shared a rather curious photo on Instagram recently that has people asking questions about her choices. The gallery-style post contains two photos of the reality star and her immediate family, outside before attending church.

While the vast majority of comments on the social media post are positive, some questioned the way she precariously held her 6-week-old baby and others also wanted to know why the star wasn’t wearing a face covering.

“Why is she carrying that baby like that looks like she fixing to drop her!” one person commented on Joy-Anna Duggar’s post.

Church this morning!????

A post shared by Joy (Duggar) Forsyth (@joy4site) on

“Why is she carrying that baby like that looks like she fixing to drop her!” one person commented.

Joy can be seen holding her daughter, Evelyn Mae next to son Gideon, and husband, Austin. “Church this morning,” she captioned the photo.

“Thank you for your concern,” Joy-Anna responded.

“haha!” Joy responded to the comment. “Thank you for your concern! I was holding Evy and then Gideon was trying to hold my hand! I wasn’t about to drop her tho!”

Okay. We get it! Having two kids vying for mom’s attention is nothing new. But, what about mask-wearing during a global pandemic?

“Where’s your mask?” another person asked. Given that Arkansas, where Joy lives, is not doing the best containing the spread of COVID-19, this seems like another valid “concern.”

“We are still doing church [live stream],” another person shared. “Too many people who aren’t wearing masks…… Beautiful Sunday pics!”

“I hope it’s a small group and you all are wearing masks,” another individual wrote.

“One would think or hope she would want to protect her newborn in every way possible,” one person posted, according to the Daily Mail. “I mean, c’mon, if a newborn catches Covid that could be really, really tragic. I am appalled that they would do something so risky, it’s disgusting.”

It’s well-documented at this point that infants can get sick and even die after catching COVID-19. You’d think this might deter some from taking risks by unnecessarily exposing their child. But, we don’t know all the details and it’s best to withhold judgment as Joy and her family might have worn masks after taking the photo. Another possibility is the church service could have been held outside and with proper social distancing.

Joy-Anna and Austin welcomed their daughter on Aug. 21 at 2:12 p.m. According to the couple, the infant weighed 8 lbs., 5 oz., and measured 19.5 inches long at the time of birth.

“To say my heart is full is an understatement,” she wrote on Instagram, announcing the newborn’s arrival. “We have been dreaming of this day and are so happy to announce that our baby girl arrived August 21st at 2:12pm weighing 8lbs 5oz and is 19.5” long!”

“She has the best personality, is easy going, and loves to be held!” she proceeded. “She has her nights and days mixed up, but honestly, I love it! Getting to spend that quiet, quality time with her through the night has been SO special! We are grateful for all the love and prayers that have come our way during this pregnancy.”

Love and prayers won’t keep you from catching COVID or dropping a baby so let’s hope Joy-Anna Duggar and company put on those masks and got a good grip on Evelyn before attending church!
