Hours After Former ‘The Bachelorette’ Contestant Josh Seiter Was Reported Dead, He Shared a Video On His Instagram Account

The internet has fallen victim to yet another death hoax.

During the evening hours of August 28, breaking news reported former The Bachelorette contestant Josh Seiter had passed away.

The news came after a statement was shared on his personal Instagram page. “It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share the tragic news of Joshua’s unexpected passing,” the statement began.

“As all who know him can attest, Joshua was an incredibly bright light in an increasingly dim world. His fearless voice and indomitable spirit help thousands of people in their darkest moments feel just a little less along.”

At the end of the statement, it encouraged those dealing with mental health to seek help by reaching out the 988 SMS Lifeline. However, after hours of the post being live, it was eventually deleted from the page.

Now, Seiter himself is speaking out, revealing that he is in fact still alive and that his social media account was hacked. He went on to call the death hoax a “cruel joke” that mocked his struggle with mental illness.

Eventually, Seiter also apologized to the public for the pain the hoax caused them. He added that they are still working to find who hacked his account and posted the statement.

This is the second time just this month that a popular social media account had been hacked and a death hoax had gone viral. As Mamas Uncut previously reported, Lil Tay was reported dead after a statement on her Instagram account said so.

However, hours later, the statement was deleted and her team issued a statement saying Lil Tay is alive and well.

It’s unclear why this is happening all of a sudden.
