John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have been very public about the loss of their baby Jack last month.
Legend recently addressed the public regarding the overwhelming amount of support and wanted to thank individuals and families for their words.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Legend shared: “We’ve heard from so many people who have gone through it too — and it’s been encouraging to be getting so much love and support from so many people who have experienced similar things.”
“Chrissy sharing what she shared has also been helpful for other people who are going through it and may go through it in the future. So thank you,” he continued.
And when asked how he stays so positive, Legend says it is what brings us hope that draws him forward.
“Whenever we go through personal challenges — and I think challenges as a nation — I think we have to hold on to what makes us optimistic. What makes us hopeful. Hold on to the things that bring us joy.”
“And in my family, as we’ve gone through a tough year, we hold on to the fact that we have two beautiful kids that we love and are such a beautiful reflection of who we are and what we value.”
In a personal essay, Chrissy has spoken out about people’s kindness and support.

“For weeks, our floors have been covered in flowers of kindness. Notes have flooded in and have each been read with our own teary eyes. Social media messages from strangers have consumed my days, most starting with, ‘You probably won’t read this, but…’ I can assure you, I did.”
The family has been honoring Jack through organizing their friends to donate blood.
Earlier last week, Chrissy shared a clip of Luna’s empathetic soul reacting to Jack’s ashes. To read the full story, click here.
