Congratulations are in order for Jessica Ellen Cornish, better known by her stage name Jessie J. Last week, the 35-year-old musician welcomed her first child into this world and shared the news with her fans and followers on Friday (May 20) – taking to her Instagram Story to gush over her healthy newborn son.
“A week ago my whole life changed. My son entered this world and my heart grew twice the size. The feeling is indescribable. I am flying in love,” she wrote in a text overlay on her Instagram Story. “He is magic,” she continued. “He is all my dreams come true. He is my whole. He and I are both doing great.”
She admitted that she ‘still can’t believe he is real, here and mine’ and was ‘so grateful’ to finally meet her newborn son. She also thanked all of her fans and followers for their continued love throughout her journey to motherhood – adding that she’ll make her return to Instagram when she feels ready to.

Jessie J didn’t reveal the baby boy’s name or birth date and has yet to release any photos of the newborn. She first revealed her pregnancy on January 6 when she posted a video montage of her showing off her baby bump and ultrasound pictures – she was both ‘happy’ and ‘terrified’ to share it.
“Please be gentle with me. Honestly, ya girl just wants to ugly cry in public in a catsuit eating a chocolate covered pickle with no questions asked,” she wrote in the caption In January. She continued to show off her growing baby bump over the past few months in performances, on social media, and on red carpets.
The birth comes less than two months after Jessie J celebrated her 35th birthday – which fell on March 27. She posted a photo of her holding her baby bump on March 26, writing, “I am 35 years old tomorrow and this is the best birthday gift I will ever get” – referring to her baby. Now that baby is here and healthy.
Jessie J Suffered a Miscarriage in 2021
The exciting birth comes roughly 18 months after Jessie J revealed she had suffered a miscarriage. She took to her Instagram in November 2021 to reveal the tragic news – adding that she found out during her third scan when doctors said there was no longer a heartbeat. That makes her new baby a rainbow baby.
“To get pregnant was a miracle in itself and an experience I will never forget and I know I will have again. I’m still in shock, the sadness is overwhelming. But I know I am strong, and I know I will be ok,” she wrote at the time – adding that she still planned on performing at her show in Los Angeles that same night.
The following month, she took to her Instagram again to talk more openly about miscarriage – a conversation she believes needs to be had more often. She explained how she had ‘never experienced physical pain and trauma or felt loneliness like it’ and that the experience ‘has changed me forever.’

“I guess I’m here to say to anyone who may not have been told this, you are allowed to be broken. You are allowed to cry. Allowed to be weak. Allowed to be exhausted from the pain and the bleeding and the grief that barely has space to exist. You are allowed to do this however YOU need to,” she continued.
