Jessica Simpson Shuts Down Former Vogue Staffer For Body Shaming Her Cleavage At The 2007 Met Gala

Former Vogue staffers, celebrities, as well as designers shared behind-the-scenes stories on Monday (which was supposed to be Met Gala Day) and some serious body shaming was thrown at Jessica Simpson for having boobs.

Former Vogue Creative Digital Director, Sally Singer, gave a detailed account of Jessica Simpson and John Mayor back at the 2007 gala while allegedly body-shaming the celebrity.

“One year, Jessica Simpson was there with John Mayer. She was wearing Michael Kors and her breasts maybe fell out of her dress on the red carpet…and then at dinner it was suddenly like, ‘Whoa, Jessica Simpson’s breasts are across from me at the dinner table and they are on a platter and I’m looking at them,'” she said.

“And John Mayer was putting his hands on them at the dinner table. He kind of reached down and I just remember thinking, ‘Oh, celebrities, feel free to play here.’ That’s what’s going on.”

Jessica decided to clap back after reading what Sally said via Twitter and Instagram – calling her out.

“But in all seriousness, I have persevered through shaming my own body and internalizing the world’s opinions about it for my entire adult life,” she went on.

“To read this article about the classiest fashion event there is and to be shamed by another woman for having boobs in 2020 is nauseating.”

Amen and amen!

Recently, Simpson released her latest work titled “Open Book.”

In a post to Instagram she pens:

“I am SO overwhelmed with gratitude and joy with this unexpected gift of support. Open Book is the #1 NYT Audiobook … Thank you for listening and actually hearing my story and my music with an open heart. Every one of the comments I have read from y’all about the audiobook have moved me to tears because it is true, I am your friend.”

….and friends don’t body shame other friend’s boobs. Just sayin’.
